I have to say that I don't think anyone who has commented so far paid any attention to what was being said in the article. I'm also totally confused about how the Bible was misquoted here. Basically Matthew says you cannot serve both God and money and to shore up your treasures in heaven and not on earth. So, how exactly was the article misleading here? Maybe you guys are the ones with agendas that have been preached to you that are way off base. I'm pretty sure Jesus would not condemn someone for caring about the poor and wanting to better the lives of the least in society. Particularly at a time when there is an increasing gap between the wealthy and the poor in society. Let's not forget that Jesus gained a following during a time when the Jews were suffering under oppression. I'm certainly no Marxist, nor is anyone currently in the US government. Anyone who says otherwise is either delusional or speaking in hyperbole. But a purely capitalist society isn't good either. And please realize we already have strong elements of socialism inherent in our society. Also, the people who are saying that America will fail because we are godless are completely off their rocker. If America fails it will be due to a variety of reasons, but I don't think that is one of them. We are one of the most religious industrialized societies on earth. Also, societies that are extremely secular and even have strong atheistic or agnostic tendencies, tend to be doing rather well. The most agnostic have some of the lowest incidences of violence and some of the strongest social cohesion of any place on earth. So maybe if we worked on taking care of one another, um, kinda like this guy Jesus talked about, then our country might do better. Stop worrying about competing and yelling at people because they want to like their lives different from yours.

Also, way to cast the first stone guys. Strider is a former missionary who spent several years in China teaching people English. How many of you have actually dedicated that much of your life and time to that type of service. Calling out someone's faith when you have no knowledge of their life or their beliefs is the epitome of un-Christian behavior.

Answer to Women's Rights

Your are right about the free-will - but that "gift" you say we have also means that each and every one of us are accountable for what we do in our body. We have also have been ordered by God in scripture to "warn" people about the sins they commit. It is not only given to clergy but also to individual believers. If you are not a Christian - fine - you may feel you are exempt from this injunction to warn the "sinner of the error of his ways". As a Christian - I believe I have that responsibility and will carry it out. I believe this responsibility is verbal and should be through intellectual persuasion. It can be verbally strong and confrontational, but non-violent physically.

The problem is that most Americans cannot stand hard "preaching" because they are either living with a guilty conscience and cannot stand to hear moral absolutes or they are part of a victims mentality. Most Americans are painfully insecure and neurotic from Public School, depression medication, and indulgent up-bringing. These people in this article promoting a social gospel and Marxism are phonies. The response to this statement from most is -"you are being hateful". What I am looking at is a country that is going to be subjugated by foreign enemies not because they are better than us, but because we have forgotten God. And He has forgotten us. In this country alone abortion kills over a million babies a year. Only a few hundred at the most are due to rape or incest. Thanks to our pollitions and courts any man can take a under age girl even as young as 11 or 12 that they raped into any abortion clinic and abort the unborn child and dispose of the evidence. Believe it because it happens more than you know. The rest of over a million abortions a year are done for the convenience of birth control while couples wait years to adopt children or go to other countries to adopt.

Now some may think that the elite and the government since ROE v WADE care about women and their reproductive rights. (WRONG) The only thing they care about is where their next contribution comes from and how they can become more wealthy off of tax payers money. (AND) Billions of it has come from the abortion industry.
