response to "Look in a mirror"

Both sides have done things that are not right. Does this mean that we have to continue on this road to destruction? Both beliefs have good and bad. Can we not look at the other and see the good and live with this? I fail to see how killing each other can make a better life for the ones left behind. All I see is the death and destruction of the ones we love. Be it the Holy Bible or the Koran. Religion should be a personal thing that we feel inside. Not a public issue that we have to kill each other over. God will fix it all in the end. All we need to do is live our lives by his word and be at peace with one another. No matter which book we call the "ONLY" one. Do we really believe that God would want us killing each other over a "book"? If you believe in your religion then tell me how you can want all the bloodshed that has been happening.

I don't want anyone dying for my religion!

Name calling is childish and unnecessary. Insults are rediculus. Killing each other is pointless as this only makes another generation hostile and the circle never gets broken. Lets all live in peace in the glory of "OUR GOD" (whoever your choice is) and hope for the best on the other side.

I hope I have not offended you but this is what I feel and see.

look in a mirror

Well if the Christians would stop imprisoning without charge(Guantanamo), torturing (abu Gharib) and burning Muslims at the steak (it’s not that they have stopped burring people at the steak, it’s that they have better munitions, cluster bombs, land mines, laser guided missiles…) we’ll have more to talk about. Things like preemptive war, mutually assured destruction, global warming, ethnic cleansing of four of the six inhabitable continents and counting, world wars, colonialism, government protected institutionalized slavery, the inquisition, crusades …………………………………. Can you be a good Christian and not be an enabler of these things? Evidence indicates otherwise.

However, in Islam injustice should be fought against, self determination should be fought for. If you want to call the resistance movements “insurgents” while championing the “surge” you probably think hypocrisy is an art form. Freedom of religion in the US is as tenuous as the Bush Administration’s touch with reality.

Muslim Moderates

I am a Muslim living in America. I assure you I am a good citizen and continue to be. So, yes, it is possible to be a Muslim in America. In response to the comment Mr. Bob made about our Quran, "infidels" are persecuters. If you are Christian, Mr.Bob, then surely you know the story of Moses? The Egyptians were persecuters and thus "infidels". Persecution should be discouraged and fought. Muslims also believe Jesus was a prophet and we do not need to hear Christian ideals on him. Americans do not live under Christian "authority" either. SALAM(peace)

Radical Christianity

Lets not forget the killings in the name of Christianity where innocnet men, women and childeren were killed becasue they were condemned by the bible as Christ killers. There are so many violent vereses in the bible the most celebrated one where Jesus says Think not that I have come spread peace but I have come to the spread the sword. When Christians stop their bigotry towards other religions then we can have an intelletual talk. I don't understand how you can be Christians and hate people of other religions at the same time. Evangelical Chritians are the biggest hypocrites ever to walk on the face of Eatrht. Evangelical preachers go in and preach and then their cauguht with prostitutes(Jimmy Swaggart, Benny Hind, Oral Roberts.) and then they have the nerve to Criticize other religions. Check your own backyard first. Christians say I believe in Jesus and then turn around and drink, fornicate, and committ adultery and then there worried about going to Church. Christians need to wake up and accept the truth. Radical Christianity is big threat to the world. Let's not forget the holocaust, the crusdaes and the genocide in bosnia. Radical Christianity must be dealt with or were all domed. Islam has come to erase the problems which Chritianity can't. IT had 2000 years to address the above issues but failed. How times have you heard muslim preachers or Imamas involved in sex scandals. 411 Cahtolics let your preists get married and have sex so they can stop molesting little kids. How can you expect a human being to go without sex his or her whole life. Jesus never forbid marriage but encouraged it so people stay protected from sin. Christians don't know crap about their own religion and they try to be an expret on other religions. You gotta love the irony. Please God save us from Radical Christianity.

Warren's Muslim Outreach

Warren's talk to the Muslim group was outstanding. It goes a long way to help make Obama's invitation for Warren to give the Invocation quite understandable. They are friends; they work together on a number of issues; they respect each other; and they are willing to stick their neck out for each other. More power to them for the good work they are doing. I don't have to agree with everything either one says, thinks, or does. Neither do you.

Theresa's comments help to illustrate Warren's comment about not making the mistake of taking Al Quaida as typical of Muslims, just as one should not take the Ku Klux Klan as typical of Christians. She seems to have made the mistake, and illustrated a clearly repulsive image of Christianity.

Bof of OK seems to have problems with understanding Warren's message too. It is not necessary for one to agree with everything Muslims believe, or everything their scriptures say, in order to work together with them to address the pressing desparate needs of billions of people in this world.

Not only is it desirable to escape the "religious police" of other nations; it is desirable to escape those self-appointed "religious police" of this country too.

God forbid that America ever operates under "Christian authority." That would not only be unconstitution, it would also be a fundamental repudiation of the teachings of Jesus and his Kingdom of God.

Help keep America "free"

Religious freedom in America also allows Moslems to hear about Jesus, without fear of reprisal from the religious police that they do fear in other countries.

America must continue to be a safe haven for "moderate" Moslems

Because America has been established with "religious freedom". it should be a safe haven for those who want to escape the religious police in Moslem nations.

Christians can, and should help maintain and support that.

Keep America a safe place for Moslems to hear about Jesus and live under Christian authority.

Amen

Is there really a moderate Moslem community?

If the Quran itself insites volence against "infidels", can you be a good Moslem and a good citizen of a non-moslem country?

Muslims/Christians

When Muslims stop imprisoning, torturing and beheading Christians -simply because they are Christian. -We'll have more to talk about.
