Have you seen Jim Wallis' latest post at Belief Net - What's Next For Huckabee? - basically endorsing Mike Huckabee as the new leader of a new generation of Evangelicals? He goes even further than what he said in this interview. I'm going to assume he's just guilty of wishful thinking where Huckabee (and Evangelical Christianity, generally) is concerned...and that he doesn't actually AGREE with Huckabee. Huckabee is a danger, a right wing populist, and unashamed about scapegoating whole groups of people (i.e., gays, mormons, etc.) in order to get his folks frothing at the mouth. It all makes me wonder: What is Jim Wallis THINKING?! For more on this visit http://reclaimingthefword.typepad.com/reclaiming_the_f_word/2008/03/what-is-jim-wal.html

I think we can do better than this.
