Chamique Holdsclaw is the Sort of Role Model Michael Jackson Never Was

I bring to your attention an awe-inspiring article in Friday's New York Times about WNBA player Chamique Holdsclaw. She is the type of person who should be getting all the hype lavished on Michael Jackson. I know, I know, he sold millions of CDs, she didn't, he was a household name, she wasn't, and he has passed on while she is very much alive.

That said, however, this is a woman who has struggled with depression and won. Her values are terrific, her valor even more impressive, and she is the type of role model young Americans should be taught to emulate:

This time last year, Chamique Holdsclaw said, she was profoundly sad and not thinking much about basketball.

Depression from her grandmother's death two years earlier had finally caught up with her. She said she was frustrated, sad and could not deal with her emotions on her own.

But with help from a strong support group made up of friends and family members and a continued passion for the sport, Holdsclaw has returned to the game she loved and to her dominant form on the court.

i don't get it

is the mayor or LA responsible for partly of waste full spending on that larvish spend on cop in protection service at the mermorial day party at the stable stadium, and now since money is short to pay them back they might held the people who decide to open that dam thing for their business gain and the one who give an ok on that, too bad city get bitter deal according to what they say the food only suppose to cost half of amouth they suppose to pay, contractor jacking up the price after they try to do an independent investigate and ask Subway Sandwich to make the same meal like that and what the cost for such a meal like that wow that was way big different price on the same menu when those contractor got pay, too bad i'm ain't MJ fan anymore after bunch of his child molest scandal and plastic sugery of his make him look ugly like monkey face, can't have any good energy when old people sing and dance, but i say he pretty well know in the 90s i was among some of his listener, i only love the king of pop the way he sing and dance not the way he act and live his life so wreckless, he more like a fallen idol once was respect by many people, too bad Elizabeth Taylor ain't coming to her dear friend memorial or funeral day which bunch of other, and it sad to see his dad took that for his own agenda promote his own CD album record as his business gain occation, i think of his dad as a selfish person would only think of himself so much he forget that was his son stragety is his gain, i also don't get it why is he reporting that foul place might taken place of his son death ain't somebody from the family should report MJ addiction on drug, should add plastic sugery, and child molested in there his reckless life to the law, but i bet the law also was blind by MJ money if anyone sui him eah and they cover up for MJ. If the dad want to protect his son life i think he should blow the wistle like long time ago so the public could jump in there and help saving MJ life too late for that now. I hear that they try to pay for some sort of hospital that could bring back MJ from the death after he stop breathing that hospital very succesfull on doing that the have 20% sucess rate of bringing back the death people to life cost alot tho, but i guess not in MJ case eah, oh and nice Gold Cofin too i hear it cost 25k for it? I bet it gona be nice one to be in when u die eah too bad not much people can afford that sort of stuff now aday on rich people up on the high class type can be able to have that
