Below I almost forgot to mention that the news media’s dishonest reporting of the fraudulent global warming theory has precedent. I apologize for my oversight. Through the reporting of Walter Duranty, the New York Times helped cover up Stalin’s genocide, and helped to spread the belief that communism was creating a workers paradise. Because of this, there are now Ukrainians trying to get his Pulitzer Prize revoked posthumously:

I became aware of this atrocity immediately after it happened by reading about it in USN&WR, where it was documented vividly in full color. So I never believed anyone denying Hussein’s possession of WMD, as the world had already witnessed such use of WMD by his government.

2008 was 0.3 degrees colder than 1988, not 0.7 degrees warmer, as Hanson predicted. Had he predicted what actually happened, no one would have seen the need to waste hundreds of billions of dollars. Now the politicians are threatening to burden the economy with their Cap-and-Trade scheme, which amounts to a massive tax increase on all conventional energy usage, to be paid for by you every time you buy something manufactured or transported using energy, which includes nearly everything buy, and your utility bill. It’s ironic how they claim to be protecting the children from doomsday, when they are really impoverishing your children’s future with this additional burden. We are being forced to pay for less reliable, uneconomical sources of energy while being told they are viable alternatives, which is not true. All of the so-called ‘alternative’ sources of energy, including wind and solar, equal less than one percent of mankind’s needs, and do not ever produce enough electricity to pay for themselves, without subsidies. Meanwhile, our far more economical access to hydrocarbon energy and nuclear energy is being throttled for no good reason.

What’s in a name?
When speaking of healthcare, the environment, the economy, or our rights enumerated under the Bill of Rights, the unspoken agenda of the Left, and the Obama administration in particular, is really to expand governments role in the economy. It does not matter if you call it Socialism, Communism, Fascism or any other ‘ism, because they dare not speak it’s name anyway. Popular causes for economic benefits from government are not ends in themselves but means to an end. Healthcare, the environment, the economy, and our rights just create the opportunity for the Left-wing political demagoguery designed to get you to trade your rights for false promises. The people who actually provide you with these things you want, cannot and will not work for nothing. We must pay them for what we want from them. The government cannot force them to give you more of want you want. It can only stop them from being able to provide you with it.
History provides some tragic examples of peoples’ pursuit of their Utopian dream, which is really just a fantasy world where you would get everything you want through little or no personal effort. For example, in pursuit of other utopian dreams, communists of the 1930s decided collectivization of farms would better serve their interests. Whereas Hugo Chavez seized the petroleum industry and its oil fields, Obama seized banks and automobile companies, Stalin and Mao seized farmland. Global Cooling
Sad to say for the warmaholics, but there is NO global warming. For about the past ten years (depends on how you fit the curves) the world has been cooling. We've now dropped anout .75 degree F since the El Nino event which caused the 1998 heat spike. An entire set of Leftwing programs appears to be based on a demonstrable fraud, Anthropomorphic Global Warming. The Left sees the risk and is raising their level of hystrionics. If AGW is a fraud, we don't need The Kyoto Treaty or Cap and Trade. Nor do we need to bankrupt the coal industry or raise energy prices by as much aas 90%. Nor do we need to ruin the Cement Industry (study poor Cal Portland) nor the lumber and logging industry. We do not to continue to strangle the Petroleum industry. Nor did we ever did to ruin the once great American Automobile Industry. Some day soon, some courageous Republicans will call the Democrats out on this.

Deforestation is driven by our ever increasing meat consumption. A study, produced jointly by environmental groups and the soy industry, showed that only 12 of 630 sample areas deforested since July 2006 -- or 0.88 percent of 157,896 hectares (390,000 acres) -- were planted with soy.
By comparison, nearly 200 were converted into pasture land for cattle. The rest of the deforested areas had not yet been put to use. What isnt even mentioned is that those 12 sample areas would have fed the at least same amount of people as the 200 samples full of cattle, due to the vast energy inefficiency involved in producing food from the second rung of the food chain.

Even ten years ago, if I had suggested that the majority party’s proposed bill would be withheld from the minority party two hours from the vote — and then one copy was grudgingly provided, to be shared by all 435 Representatives , you would have looked at me like I was a crazy person…….
Well that’s exactly what happened two weeks ago Friday when Congress voted on and passed the infamous HR 2454 Cap and Trade/Carbon Emissions Bill. Final vote: 219 Yea, 212 Nay. A little after 3 am on that very same day a 300 page amendment was added to the original 900+ pages. This is the longest suicide note in history and will further hasten our downward economic spiral. The Senate looks to debate it this Fall where it will likely get nowhere. Friday’s vote may have been a gift to the POTUS for the upcoming UN meeting knowing there’s little chance of it getting thru the Senate. Before Friday’s vote I made my feelings known to our Democratic Congressman. I see he voted No but I’ve no idea what his real motivation was. Some that voted Yes received calls 20:1 urging a No vote and they still voted Yes.
This is about more than just higher electricity rates. It’s a massive redistribution of wealth, further limits our freedoms all under the guise of reducing an essential trace greenhouse gas, and does next to nil for energy independence. This Manmade Global Warming/Climate Change House Of Cards is tumbling down. Every week more and more new contrary evidence is seeing the light of day. The Mainstream Media won’t report it, but this vital information is getting out to those that want honest debate on this important issue.
Looking past the Senate this Fall we have the December Copenhagen UN meeting on a new Global Warming Treaty. Remember the Kyoto Treaty? Well you ain’t seen nothing yet. I shudder to think what the U.S. delegation would love to commit us to for years or decades forward. Lastly there’s the EPA waiting in the wings to regulate all things CO2. Recently a leaked string of internal EPA e-mails detailed suppression of evidence that undermines the CO2 argument. Many derided the career EPA employee as not being a climatologist. Well Mr. Carlin has a physics degree. Al Gore is no climatologist or scientist but he’s allowed to testify before Congress on this issue. Madness!
Remember Friday’s vote, because if this horror show is implemented on the American public it will blow up in our face as it has in every country this has been tried. At what cost in dollars and individual freedoms? Mark your calendar in RED, because that is the path we are heading toward. Contact your Senators and ask them if they’re prepared to defend a Yes vote for this misguided Bill. Let them know a NO Vote will ensure your support next election cycle.

The buma is so out of touch with reality. The temp has warmed .08% since industrial revolution. That means we won't burn up for a bit longer, but we will burn up if he keeps spending our money on cr** like Acorn, cr** and tax, socialized med, ANOTHER stimulus, other lobby paybacks, shall I keep going?
He better focus on Americans and fixing his botched stimulus. They need to take the pork package and let the Republicans fix it,re-alocate the money for productivity. Him and Biden admitted they screwed up, so before he filters any more stimulus money out to Acorn and other wasteful non-sense, they should start with page 1 of the pork and re-do it, that would stop him from creating another monstrousity that we'll have to have our childeren (and their children) pay for.
