The Public is Catching on that Obama's Promises of Change Are Vacuous

Re-election

Why not elected him again. After all we were fooled the first time. What differnce does it make. His Qualification to be Pesident was founded on his good looks and his ability to talk is front of a group of people. Or should I say his ability to tell us what ever we want to hear. Who cares he has no substance, no skill and no way of doing his chosen job. He will tell us what we want to hear. Isnt that why we elected him to begin with. Ok I done being sarcastic. I could not control myself. The shock of him actually get elected must still be on my mind. What were we thinking?

Hoping for A REAL change

All we did was elect a junior senator who just happened to be a charismatic speaker. Obama knows nothing about how to handle an economy, run a state (let alone an entire country), or even admit to the fact that he is half-white!

I still believe our nation and our financial situation would've been in much better hands under Mitt Romney. But I guess it makes too much sense to elect a man who actually knows how to handle finances, economics, deal with foreign policy, and keep his ethics and promises all at the same time. Yes, why would America possibly want that?

Our Current President

Running a country is more about sound business policy and an understanding of sound economics theory that the goose that lays the golden eggs is called," Free enterprise with competition" Capitalism without competition is called fascism and unhappilly our congress and others in our society like it that way....also too many illegal aliens are tolerated and we are now in near bankrupsy.....our glib president can always talk about change but he did not do very well as a senator and he has done nothing now to improve our living conditions.....we need to break the major cartels and go back to free enterprise.....take a tip from Theodore Roosevelt and others who knew what to do not just glib talk about change.......

How bad could he be??

So many voted for Obama because they hate Bush - except of course all of those who voted for Obama because he's black - no secret there, as most African-Americans stated that was their reason.

Looks like it's turning out that there actually is somebody worse than Bush, huh? At least, Bush is an American.

Obama's changes.......

It is true that President Obama is still new at the job. However, he has attempted/made a number of changes and these changes have benefited his supporters and those who lobbied him. If we wait too long to see where he is going it might be too late. We are already printing more money and getting deeper into debt then is necessary.

We the American people do need to make sacrifices such as thinking that we NEED everything we Desire. We need to tighten out belts but we do not need a self serving leader who will load us down with trillions in debt and then expect us to pay for it without jobs.

Did you listen to his push on the Health Care program..."we will wipe into place" those who oppose us. Next we know he will insist we call him Master....Bad news!!!

The "six-month" excuse doesn't fly for someone who wanted to take over November 5. Plus what is he even proposing that's been known to work and has a solid track record of doing so?

President Obama.

I'm not seeing the "change" that President Obama ran his campaign on (at least not yet). But I also realize that he's only been in office for almost 6 months, and I can't see how one man can turn fix the problems of this magnitude (the economy, health care, etc) in such a short time.

Right now, barring impeachment, we all are committed to President Obama for 4 years, whether we voted for him or not. Because the fact remains that right now, there's no one out there that's better than Barack Obama. If there was, then Obama would have never been elected.

I support President Obama, but I'm also taking a wait and see approach on if he can turn things around.

We should have let them all fail

People say to me, "but by bailing out AIG they saved your 401K!" To that I say that I accepted risk when I agreed to put money into the 401K. What I don't accept is the devaluation of savings that is supposed to be low return and risk free.

Instead I read that Goldman Sachs salaries are back up to prebubble levels. That's our money they are throwing around. These trillions to bail out reckless behavior is my definition of theft on a grand scale, and if this doesn't merit incumbents being voted out of office, I don't know what does.

There are so many obvious and simple solutions to raise funds and lift our quality of life. Here's one for starters. 2$/gallon tax on gasoline. We'll have good roads, less traffic, healthier people (cheaper health care), poorer enemies, advanced (and proven) technology, all with one line of legislation. We won't need CAFE, or armies in Iraq and Afghanistan. GM will finally be able to afford to make small cars. Everyone wins except the Bin Laden clan.

While we're at it, let's legalize all drugs. The criminal code remains as deterrent to bad behavior. Drugs are not a crime, but neither are they an excuse for crime. People who want to off themselves can go ahead and bite the big one; my guess is the same number will that already do today, but we'll be able to pay for the bad apples and their treatment by taxing drugs of abuse, like we already do with alcohol and tobacco, which by the way kill a fair number already. Once again, we would have more money for state services and infrastructure, less crowded prisons, a less frustrated and more focused society, and personal accountability. Think of how much more peaceful Mexico would be.

This is what I "hoped" would happen when I voted for Obama. What actually did occur has left me wondering who is actually in charge, and how to influence them.

Seriously, though: AIG bailout = throw the bums out. All of them.
