Thinking Ahead

Just another case of a politician thinking with the wrong head at the wrong time.

Says who?

It's not 'silly'. There are MANY gay Christians.

And in places such as Asia, culture DOES play a big role. Why else is it so male-dominated? It's because their CULTURE demands that they choose a wife and produce an heir to inherit the family name and continue their legacy.

Go ahead. Prove me wrong.

...unless you're just a troll.

You can't be GAY and CHRISTIAN

That's just SILLY.

Culture = Religious BS

There is no other source or opinion that makes gay wrong. It is ONLY religion. Don't suggest "culture," that is a simple by-product of religious BS.

Religion is given to people BEFORE they can think. There are 1800 different religions - they didn't pick theirs - it was washed into their brains.

RELIGION is the ONLY thing that makes Gay WRONG

If you disagree with that fact - please explain.

No, it is not stupid...

...because most people can recognize the decent, honest Christian who actually practices what they preach about loving your neighbor, etc and the ones who call themselves Christian, yet behave in a VERY un-Christian manner.

Many Christians are just fine with gay marriage. It's just the ones against it that get more publicity.

ONLY Religion makes gay WRONG

WHAT besides RELIGION makes gay WRONG? Tell me. Tell us.

Religion_Hurts

The only thing that makes gay "wrong" is religion." Wake up.

It is very curious that gay people would somehow be Christian. It's very stupid.

And... you never answer me.

Man of IA, you have UTTERLY FAILED to provide ACTUAL PROOF that polygamy will be legalized in the United States. If anything, you have outright passed over my argument in favor of pretending it isn't even there.

If you can't provide actual solid proof, then your argument falls apart. If you make a claim like that and fail to provide evidence to the fact, then you WILL get called out on it.

Yes, gay couples want the right to adopt. They should have the right to adopt. Nothing selfish there at all. The only truly selfish thing is denying kids in the system a loving, secure home. And in case you were unaware, there's a terrible shortage of couplkes out there who are willing and able to adopt, and that's just strait pairs.

How many more homes for children do you think will open up if gay couples all over the United States were given the right to adopt? Imagine how many children will be SAVED FROM A LIFE IN THE SYSTEM.

Gay is already legitimate, thank you. It occurs in the animal kingdom, so no reason to believe it wouldn't happen with humans. Thing is, humans are the ONLY species to be homophobic. It's REAL. IT"S HERE AND IT'S NEVER GOING AWAY. Get used to it.

The will of the majority SHOULD NOT determine the rights and freedoms of a minority. If it were Christians in the minority and they were being subjected to THE SAME TREATMENT that gays are now, then you would be VERY vocal in demanding the same rights and benefits as the majority.

And WHY, do you think physical and mental health issues are so problematic for gays? Could it be because they KNOW that society has yet to fully accept and embrace them? Could it be because they legitimately fear rejection form their parents, families, friends and co-workers? Might it be because they have already been rejected by those who are supposed to love and care for them? Do you think these problems would exist on this level if society did accept them?

Think about that for a little while.

Nearly every country that has legalized same-sex marriage has experienced a significant DROP in these sort of issues among gays and lesbians. Reduced suicide rates, reduction in the spread of STD'... I TOLD YOU ALL THIS AND YOU CHOSE TO IGNORE IT.

Gay marriage is already legal in six states. Several other states are looking into legalizing it, including New York. Your claims are baseless and not proven by any legitimate study.

In short, the world is changing. We are growing, learning and evolving past the superstitious fears that governed us once before for so long. It's slow-going, but we're getting there. Don't like it?

Well... be left in the dust.

Anti Gay Sentiment

"There is only one thing in the entire world that makes "gay" WRONG - it is religion."

Not true, and I proved it in preceding comments: if you accept that the state has no business regulating what constitutes a marriage - the fundamental argument *for* gay marriage - then the same argument applies to polygamy, something 91% of Americans oppose at the moment.

In itself, it is not a big deal but it leads to bigger problems, a gateway to legitimizing gayness. Gay adoptions, which huge numbers of Americans oppose, will be next on the agenda, and the radical gay militants never stop demanding more, more, more, against the will of the majority time and time again. Selfish. Selfish, and hateful.

There are also physical and mental health issues to consider, gays report problems with both and it is irresponsible to promote that. Being gay is a tough gig no matter how many entitlements you have. See previous post on gay sentiment in Thailand because of AIDS: another reason to be anti gay. Pure health reasons.

They have politicized themselves too much too, too much aligned with every left wing group there is, almost always giving minorities a free pass - nice. That's another source of antipathy. They normalize "snark" in the workplace and media - thanks for the wonderful addition, guys, that scores you friends.
