Hey Republicans, Limbaugh and Cheney Will Only Lead to Prolonged Minority Status

Gen. Colin Powell, though arguably one of the most attractive political figures in the country, was drummed out of the Bush White House by an extraordinarily unpopular homunculus, who is now teaming with another homunculus to try to drive Powell out of the party. It won't work Dick Cheney! Teaming up with Rush Limbaugh makes the two men the most reviled political team in the U.S.

The weekend's dustup among Powell, Cheney and Limbaugh served only to further isolate the party's rigid right from the rest of the voting populace. It hands the Democrats more power than they deserve to control. And it alienates all swing voters, moderate Republicans, independents and thinking people from the GOP. Cheney & friends are exclusionary types who think they have the right to decide who's a Republican and who's not, as if anyone would want to be a member of a club to which those two belong.

Instead of appealing to potential Republicans, they are so strident and scary, they send thinking people running for the hills.

Powell is the future of the party. But Cheney, Limbaugh et.al. will have to spend the next 20 years watching Republican candidates getting beat on Bush's record, to realize that.

Two choices? Try three.

>> "Powell has only two choices:

1) I am a Democrat or...

2) I voted for Mr Obama for purely racial loyalty"

There's actually a third:

3) McCain was a rotten choice.

Republican Party Screwups

I agree with Ms. Erbe 100%. Michael Steele is a numbskull, and becomes stupider every time he opens his mouth. The right wing of the Republican Party Rush Limbaugh, Karl Rove, Dick Cheney and maybe Newt Gingrich besmirch the label "conservative". They are reactionaries who live in Hooverland.

thinking persons

...swing voters, moderate Republicans, independents and thinking people from the GOP...

Thinking people? People like Chris Petty of Georgia?

[Hey Ann! I can be caustic, too!)

Republicans think? Maybe they should try these ideas on for size...

If you let the most extreme of your group define you then you're over. Rush and Dick? They are American Ahmedinajads.

This isn't 1980. The time for moving forward in reverse is over.

If you are so brave, why all the fearmongering? Between the boogeymen in the closet (gays) to the monster under the bed (BinLaden) all I hear from the right is "Game over, man. GAME OVER!!!"

Oh and don't forget that the gun-less dems are going to take away our right to bear arms! What does the bumper sticker say? "You can take my gun out of my cold dead hands?" Big talk from people afraid of gay marriage.

Basically, the equation looks like this...

Republican=F**ktards

Don't get mad at me--it's your party. You fix it.

(Hey Chris, your governor called and said he wants you to quit claiming Georgia as your home state.)
