What does God REALLY think about this?

Instead of judging (and condemning) John Edwards, a God of love would want us to pray for him and his family during this their time of trial.

John 8:2-11

John Edwards

For so long, the national media was loudly playing John Edwards' song on a daily basis. Now that he has fallen from grace (on his head), you reporters delight in accosting him at every opportunity.

The Edwards have already buried a son. It is my hope that they can find some happiness in spite of the odds against that.

What does God think about this?

"Thou shall not commit adultery."

Exodus 20:14

"The man who commits adultery is an utter fool, for he destroys his own soul."

Proverbs 6:32

A Human Tragedy

The John and Elizabeth Edwards story is a very sad one, for a lot of reasons, not least of which are his own admitted shortcomings as a man and a husband. I do find it interesting to note how the supposed "Good Christians" are the ones to label another person as "human slime".

The Edward's rode an emotional roller coaster for a few years, coping with the death of their son, Elizabeth's illness and the fame and celebrity that running for office brought to both of them. Unfortunately, some people are made stronger by those challenges, and some people totally lose their bearings and their moral compass along the way. John Edwards appears to have fallen into the latter category. Still, I take no gleeful or spiteful pleasure in his fall and I certainly feel for his family. To dismiss him as "not worthy of attention" is pretty smug and dismissive. Why even write about him then?

The big difference between Edwards and Cheney

is that Edwards looted the corporations to enrich himself via the lawsuit claims of clients. Cheney looted YOU and the government to enrich the corporations and himself by extension as a CEO and shareholder.

They're both bums.

As for the "government" going after Edwards, remember we now have a Dem government. The Dems were profoundly embarrassed by this guy, and they may get even.

"Any former litigator"?

Since when is it that a litigator is supposed to be able to beat Dick Cheney in a debate? Is Dick Cheney slow, uninformed, unaccustomed to argument, shy?

By the way, how did you get your job? How much do they pay you?

YOU'RE "BORED"?

That's the best emotion you can muster for human slime like Edwards? I'll bet if his name were Bush, or any prominent conservative, you'd peg the red line...
