Republican Swap: Meghan McCain for Sarah Palin and Michael Steele

By Bonnie Erbe, Thomas Jefferson Street blog.

Although Meghan McCain can sometimes come off a bit, shall we say, different, she gave a speech at the Log Cabin Republicans meeting this weekend that shows she has a brain and represents the views of lots and lots of young people and young members of the GOP. The quote is reported by our own Washington Whispers:

"Tonight I am proud to join you in challenging the mold and the notion of what being a Republican means." The 23-year-old daughter of Sen. John McCain added, "I am concerned about the environment. I love to wear black. I think government is best when it stays out of people's lives and business as much as possible. I love punk rock. I believe in a strong national defense. I have a tattoo. I believe government should always be efficient and accountable. I have lots of gay friends, and yes, I am a Republican."

In fact, she shows so much intelligence about where the GOP is or should be heading, at least in terms of what she mentioned in her speech, she should be the future leader of the party, not Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin or party chief Michael Steele.

Meghan McCain is a bitch under a democratic payroll

Meghan McCain does not represent conservative ideals of true republican. She along with his father are just sour-graping because they cannot accept that Sarah gathered more votes than McCain himself. Meghan McCain is an intelligent woman who does not use her head, and she is under a democratic party payroll. I am so sorry for her. She is a damn good bitch who likes to suck black dicks.

Sarah 2012!!!

Bonnie is a moron, "Meghan Mccain should be republican leader"...why in the hell would we listen to Bonnies views on picking a leader for our party? Bonnie, are you helping us find someone who can get elected and beat out your party? Are you seriously considering voting republican if it were Meghan Mccain?...how about this, I really thinkt Jeanine Garofolo should be the leader of the dems....

Leader...NO, but very accurate views

I believe too many have forgoten what the original Republican Party views were. Ms. McCain's statements reflect a great deal of what TRUE Republicans are all about 'cept the wearing black and tatto parts. BUT, True Republicans wouldn't care about those either. The general belief is that if you do not harm another, to each their own.

This is where the Abortion/Stem cell thing goes all wrong.

Not a "religious" view. A moral/survival view.

You don't kill your offspring. DUH
