Hey Bonnie,
How long did you stay in THAT part of Canada to come up with your assessment about how Canadians look after their animal species? Secondly, who exactly filled your head up with the crap you wrote, or did you come up with it all on your own?
You're way off base Bonnie, and before you starting rummaging through the rubbish in Canada's backyard, you might want to spend a little time cleaning up your own backyard. How's the animal trafficking doing in the U.S. by the way, do the feds have that under control yet? You are aware that animal smuggling is big business in the U.S. don't you. I think is a multi-billion dollar a year business in the U.S., ranked as the third most profitable smuggling operation. You might want to check that out though, because I can't be 100 per cent about that, not like you are about the way Canada looks after it's animal species.
What about exotic animals, you know, the ones people are allowed to keep as pets? Bet to keep them chained up and cage up home rather than letting them roam their own natural habtitat-right?
Does the humane society in your country agree with you that the U.S. has a handle on protecting it's animal species?
Where else in Canada have you visited? Have you been to Churchill, Manitoba to check out the polar bear population, or is that kind of holiday out of your price range? What about the East Coast, been there, you know to check out the seal population? You are aware that it is thriving right?
Canada isn't perfect when it comes to getting a handle on protecting their animal species, but neither is the U.S., in fact I really doubt the feds or states have a handle on the situation, otherwise PETA wouldn't be so active down there. You know what I mean.
I will say this though about Canada, I really don't like the way they handle the bear problem, and I don't agree with the culling of wolves, or any other animal for that matter, but at the end of the day, you got to do what you have to do.
One last thing, did you know that rich Americans pay big bucks to hunt animals that to an extent are protected animals, by that I mean, they pay huge bucks for one kill, for say a longhorn sheep in the Canadian Rockies.
And don't get me started on the animal poachers that come from south of the 49th parallel to hunt our animals.
You are way off base with your criticism, and misinformed to boot, and you have insulted the intelligence of Canadians, especially when it comes to what we know is going on when it comes to protecting our native animal species.
Warm regards,
Don from Crooked in Canada
Nope, you don't got it.
What's wrong with liking animals more than undeveloped human embryos?
Get Your Facts straight
Please check before you speak canada changed rules on seal hunting to control Populations. As well hunting of animals is controlled through licencing. If you lived in many areas of Canada and Northern US you'ld like to see more hunting of deer to control populations in areas where suburban sprawl have removed natural preditors. Also the Gun Laws in Canada have greatly reduced the number of hunters. Maybe you should consider a bit of control south of the border
