Cronyism

Obama BOUGHT the presidential election, and stole our votes in FL and MI. Now CK looks for her payback for supporting the crook....

The Democratic party reeks of corruption.

Go away, Caroline

It's true that HRC had held no office before her U.S. Senate election, but she was involved in politics via her role as Fist Lady and campaigned for the Senate seat. If Kennedy wants the seat, let her campaign for it in 2010. Up to this point, she's led a private life and hasn't been forthcoming about her positions on any number of issues. Where does she stand on stem cell research, reproductive rights, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, taxes, education, etc. etc.

Golisano For Caroline Kennedy by Joseph Spector

Just came out!

Golisano For Caroline Kennedy by Joseph Spector. (Politics on the Hudson)

After several lengthy conversations with U.S. Senate hopeful Caroline Kennedy, Rochester-area billionaire Tom Golisano has decided to back her for the job, a source close the Paychex Inc. founder said today.

Golisano is planning to reach out to other leaders across the state to promote Kennedy’s candidacy.

“They’ve been talking a lot, and I think he’s willing to start making phone calls for her and trying to help her out,” the source said.

While Golisano had mixed results in his influence in state Senate races last fall, his support of Kennedy for the Senate could help her gain legitimacy with some upstate leaders who have been wary of whether she would be focused on the region.

Golisano and Kennedy have spoken by telephone on several occasions, including yesterday, and the three-time gubernatorial candidate believes she understands the issues facing upstate New York, particularly the high tax burden that his hurting homeowners and businesses, the source said.

Moreover, Golisano believes Kennedy could have immediate influence in the Senate, compared to some other candidates in the field.

It’s unclear whether Golisano would seek to put money behind her candidacy, but he does have Responsible New York, the independent campaign committee, that could spend on her behalf in 2010, when the seat will be on the ballot.

Carpenters Union with 25,000 members support Kennedy and Polls

The City District Council of Carpenters Union, with over 25,000 members just threw their support behind Kennedy yesterday. This is a non campaign being treated by some in the media as a non campaign campaign with candidates who can't campaign. So far two majors polls have come out, the first had NY voters favorable to Kennedy, the more recent poll had major media headlines Cuomo in the lead. Since this is a non campaign campaign these polls don't reflect a real campaign where Kennedy can response and overnight swing the polls back her direction.
