SAVING WILD HORSES AND BURRO'S

I HAVE BEEN A HORSE LOVER EVERY SINCE I WAS A KID. I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD SAVE THE WILD HORSE AND BURRO'S THEY HAVE BEEN ON THIS EARTH A LONG TIME AND THEY NEED A CHANCE TO CONTINUE LIVING IN THE WILD. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM RUNNING FREE.

Wild Horses

God Bless you and your family Mrs. Pickens!

I have been praying for the Wild Horses since I heard about the possible slaughter.

You are following in the footsteps of Wild Horse Annie! I wrote the BLM, I wrote my Senator and Congressman, and tried to start a "grass roots movement" all without much sucess. You have done in one fell swoop everything and beyond what I hoped was possible. I did talk with Senator John Barasso of my state Wyoming, and he really listened and has been talking to people about the issue, you might contact him.

Maybe there is some land here in Wyoming or Montana you could buy. I would really like to help and I'm sure so would all the other Wild Horse, and just horse lovers in this world. Please let us know how to help. I understand you might set up some kind of a trust for them that we could donate to, please do, and let me know what I can do to help on any level! THANK YOU SO MUCH Please continue your fight against the slaughterhouses also!

Documentary

Mrs Pickens, if you read this - I would be extremely interested in carrying out a photographic essay/documentary of this story. I photographed the mustangs at Return to Freedom's wild horse sanctuary in California last year and have since been passionate to help. I have an exhibition in London next year in which my photographs of the mustangs will feature (and donations made of all profits).

But I see an opportunity here - to document the horses being transported to their new home, from their current position in the Government holding pens. This could be a crucial way to help give these horses (and their relatives) a voice, across the globe.

I think what you are doing is incredible and if I can be of help...

horses

Madeieine Pickens saving mustangs

The Europeans who invaded and settled in America first exterminated the millions of buffaloes, then millions of native people, then millions of passenger pigeons. Now, after having invaded Iraq and killed a million or two Iraqi people, they are having a go at extermnating a few thousand wild horses. What is it with you people?

Thanks to Madeleine Pickens for going against this trend and having a go at preserving some of America's heritage, made famous by the horse whisperer (the real one, not the fictitous character in the novel of the same name).

Madeleine Pickens horse rescue

Having lived in Nevada for over 17 yesrs, we have had time to see many of the magnificant wild horses. Outside of Reno roamed a herd of them. We would take our granddaughter out on the desert with apples and carrots. They quickly surrounded us, at first wondering what would happen when we ran out of food. They put their heads in the car window, particularly the colts for carrots. We were concerned that they were too accustomed to humans, and would be easily rounded up. Congratulations to Mrs. Pickens. Maybe the land supporting wind turbines would accomidate many of the animals.

Madeline Pickens Mustang Refuge

If anyone is reaching Ms. Pickens, please add my name/contact. For many years I have enjoyed observing the wild horses at the Colorado-New Mexico border (just south of San Luis) but lately the herds are much smaller!

I would like to donate and/or assist in her project to create a permanent Mustang refuge, so please let her know.

Thank you in advance. Ben Mares, Parker, Colorado

Kind Lady

About Madeleine Pickens, today she is my hero!

Thank you Madeleine Pickens, for what you have done for this wonderful animal.

The first time I saw this animal, it has left me in wonderment, now you are coming forth to save them from a most certain dome,

From an old horse lover way back, I tip my hat to you, kind lady

Jobs!

As horse whisperer and horse lovers, we would love to work on the mustang ranch. Horses are our passion. Is she looking for people to manage the ranch?

We would be interested in working on the ranch.
