Obama/Clinton wouldn't help either

Obama/Clinton wouldn't help Obama any either. A WP/ABC July poll found it repelled as many people as it attracted -- a wash. Many strong Hillary supporters wouldn't like it either, as can be seen from blogs like bitterpoliticz, pumapac, etc, where VP is considered and insult and a trap.

Nothing Obama has tried yet has made Hil's 'flock' to him; polls of Hil's are holding steady all summer. He keeps escalating his offers. I hope he tries VP pretty soon so we can get that out of the way too. Then finally he can do the right thing -- Clinton/Obama -- if he'd rather not tank in November.

Months back.....

Months back when I was doing my research, I read the on-line articles and was shocked to see the attacks against Senator Clinton - the language and the racist comments posted by Obama supporters. There came a time in January, that I would no longer read the comments. I could feel the burn in the pits of my stomach for the entire day after reading them. I posted more than once, YOU ARE GOING TO WISH YOU HAD HILLARY CLINTON...AND this has come to pass. While this entire primary unfolded it became clearer and clearer what happened, and how we find ourelves at this very moment; so I will post again, YOU ARE GOING TO WISH YOU HAD HILLARY CLINTON!!

Thank you Ms.Erbe for the article. Bravo.

Dean's apology: "I didn't have cable"

No Apology Implied

pumapunch -- Well, I suppose the DNC will just have to muddle through without you, then. It's encouraging, though, that you seem willing to forgive Hillary for selling you all down the river, so she can retain her influence in the Senate and pay off her campaign debt. It shows me that healing is possible.

Don't Bother Apologizing

GhostDance, No PUMA's mind will change because Hillary endorses Obama. We understand that Hillary wants to have a future in the democratic party and is doing what is expected of her. PUMAs do not feel obligated to support a candidate we feel has no executive experience, no serious accomplishments and no core principles.

It's obvious that Obama did not want to give the Clintons such a big role at the convention but is doing it because of his sagging poll numbers. Any apologies from the DNC or the Obama campaign -- for the misogyny and race-baiting on display during the primaries-- is a case of too little, too late.

A Lovely "Bon Voyage" for Hillary

I think it's great that Hillary will get a big-budget video testimonial, a prime-time speech and the privilege of rallying the convention delegates to support Barack Obama. I believe a lot of minds are going to change the moment she releases her delegates to vote for Obama, and I'm hoping she will appear with him at his acceptance speech before 75,000 Democrats.

Many of her supporters are still in denial, and fantasize that Hillary is being "forced" to support Obama. But she knows that her own run would be DOA at this point, and a sudden desperate play for the nomination would destroy her base within the party.

I don't know how many more times she can tell her supporters that the race is over and Obama deserves their support. We will lose some of the die-hards, but que sera.

Brokered Covention Means No Unity

All you folks who continue to blame the Clintons for all of Barack Obama's own failures really need to get a clue. Without his teleprompters and prepared statements the guy's a ahh, ahh, um um, ahh empty suit LOSER!

Also, this problem with the Dem Party right now has got nothing to do with the Clintons other then the fact that Hillary won nearly 18 million votes in the primaries. That's right 18 million votes. More then Obama. Regardless, think about the fact that 36 million votes were earned by the two, Cinton and Obama. Fifty/fifty - or nearly so. And yet neither has enough pledged delegates to actually be the official nominee without the 'asistance' of the mucky muck super delgates. WHY then was Obama declared the nominee, by the press and some Party leaders, even before the last votes were cast in the primaries? Because this election was rigged, and a brokered convention is NOT, I repeat NOT conducive to Party unity. If this Party really wants to win in November, a real live, open and honest nominating convention needs to take place, with a real live floor fight if necessary. THAT's DEMOCRACY sports fans, not this dog and pony show coronation that's planned. Read your political history books!

I guarantee that if this Party does not do the right thing in Denver and allow BOTH Clinton and Obama a fair chance to walk out of there the nominee representative of what 50% of that 36 million intended - the Party is forever fractured and WILL lose to McCain in November.

Obama Can't Win

There is no way Obama is going to win over the the groups that supported Senator Clinton. He can't hide behind lies and try to be something other than very radical. He is dropping in the polls and this is a bad sign for the DNC. The DNC needs to wake up, they are not going to win the Whitehouse in November with Obama!

Obama

I am a 63 year-old white woman and I support Barack Obama 100%. I resent the insinuation that as a woman I was obligated to support Hillary. Her campaign tactics were offensive.
