Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bonnie, I hope you are dead wrong. Now the that they have derango blago you may have a point. But why now? For sheer humiliation? Lord, have mercy!!!

Hack Writing

The reporting on this stunningly lacking context.

These deals were done in the 90's, long before Greenspan dropped interest rates following post-9/11 recession worries. Because of GOP deregulation over the last few years, coupled with the Bush administration's push for a homeownership society regardless of risk, Countrywide was allowed to write loans that would have been impossible when Johnson headed Fannie Mae, the GSE responsible for promoting housing among working and middle class citizens.

Secondly, companies routinely allow for below-market rates to people considered better credit risks. Johnson was not anywhere near a market risk, having not only a deep understanding of how mortgages work, but also the benefits of a ton of cash at hand.

Thirdly, this is article very poorly written. For someone who writes as a profession, you should be ashamed to let people see such shoddy work.

Obama's Tone Deafness

The question is: 'Am I voting for a Presidential candidate or an African American?"

The question is: "When will the media report on party policy and facts instead of insinuations and gossip?"

The media is tone deaf. It has been effective only in its appeal to a like minded ignorant audience who, like any mob, act with a cloak of anonymity and cause violence to obtain recognition among their peers.

The right to speak and to publish is compromised every time truth and responsibility is abused.

Joke?

Is this writer making a joke her?????

Bonnie's Blind eye and obsolete article.

So even though Jim Johnson's been shown the door you still run an obsolete hatchet job? Way to go US Republican News and World Retort. And Bonnie, if you can't do any serious reoprting go work for FOX. They'll take anyone who hates progress and America like you do. Good luck with your next job making fries.

Is this supposed to be comedy?

You're concerned about Obama's ethics, worrying that he didn't vet the unpaid vetter, as you ignore the tens of lobbyists on John McCain's campaign who, like Phil Gramm, are writing the policies that are going to affect their clients?

I about bust a gut reading this ridiculous pap. And you're strictly Hollywood, grade B

Truth telling

I am glad that someone like you have the audacity to write an article that sheds light on candidate Obama.. Yes, he has connections with lobbyists but his drum beaters in the media will not make comments on it because Obama is their darling and they want everything negative about him to go away or hidden under the rug.

Thank you for this bold article..

Not Again

When will Obama stop this terrible habit of having incredibly stupid people as his advisors and close friends. First there was Wright, then Pfeger, then Rezko, now this guy. Can't he do us all a favor and choose people who have some basic level of intelligence and moral standing. Then again, how does Caroline Kennedy rate a position on this selection committee. She has great qualifications. Being John Kennedy's daughter. I get the impression that Obama just has no idea what he is doing. He reminds me of Carter when he was president. Always lost and unsure.

How much bureaucracy do you want

Don't know how this writer leans, but it appears to go from right wing conservative and takes a wide turn into the bureaucratic thicket. I think Obama was succinct - how much vetting do you have to do to get a job done. Give it a rest.

Hooray for Bonnie

He's lied time and time again. He's bamboozled the American electorate in precisely the same way Bush did. Cavalier is a very good word for his reaction to one revelation after another. Time and time again he's having to move away from his old buddies. It's just politics as usual. His "change" message sounds more and more like the only change will be in the name on the door. Behavior and ethics will be precisely the same.
