On the next days Mr. Barack Obama will face so many difficult things to solve. His path is likely too narrow to go.
We can say that Ms.Condoleezza Rice is more superior than Mr. B. Obama's, her paths are the national security advisor and the secretary of State; that Mr. Henry Kissinger would travel the success roads of American Hopes with his function is the same C. rice's

We think that president Richard Nixon is one of the best Leaders of America /our Country.
His foreign Policy ' success on the Vietnam cease-fire, settling the war in Cambodia, Nixon-Brezhnev summits, Europe, the Shah of Iran, the Mideast War,the fall of Salvador Allende in Chile...and many more. (the Nobel Peace Prize in 1973 on Vietnam war for Henry Kissinger)

Leaders for the Ages
I couldn't disagreee more with most of these posts. I think we have plenty of strong leaders, ready to bring our nation back from the brink, if we will only give them the opportunity.
General Colin Powell is certainly one, a man brave enough to acknowledge mistakes and to buck his own party for the sake of his country. Jimmy Carter may not have had a successful presidency; but he has lived his life ever since dedicated to the betterment of the world. Most of us admire and love him.
I like Brian Schweitzer, the Governor of Montana. He made one of the best speeches at the Democratic Convention. He should have a bright future as a national leader.
If you want to talk about other good Republican leaders, how about Charlie Crist and Bobby Jindal. They seem to have abundent leadership qualities and high levels of intelligence.
As to our President Elect. For all that people want to tear him down and slander his name, he has already accomplished a monumental feat that proves his natural leadership abilities beyond the shadow of a doubt. He has won over the majority of American minds and hearts, when a scant generation ago his presidency would have been almost unthinkable. The man is a shining beacon of hope to people of rational thought and good will all over the world. I have faith in him and in his all star team to lead us into a brighter future than we would be facing without him. May God bless and keep him.

Your stories are inspirational and I admire those you chose to highlight; however, to include young military officers doesn't do them enough justice. The decisions they must arrive at daily and the risks they take are not in the same league with other leaders. To risk your life is not in the same category as the scientist or educator although all are to be admired. As an Alumni Director at the Citadel, I was just notiferd of our 13th alumni death in the war on terror so you'll understand why I view military COMBAT veterans in a different light. Thanks for all you do in reporting the news fairly and accurately. I have been a reader for 30 years.

Leaders? I am afraid that the United States is blessed with too many politicians, too many hucksters, too many gifted gabbers and too many of no moral substance to even pose the question. Leaders? Our political landscape is littered with the shallow reputations of those who clamor to feast from the public feed trough only to prove themselves of less than stellar character--any one for Charlie Rangel or Ted Stevens? Leaders? I don't see any...in any party. President-elect Obama is no different. The tough questions are "above his paygrade." In this age of a media mezmerized with its own brilliance, I'm not sure it is possible to have real leaders--after all, the media knows what's best for America, "THEY" are EDUCATED! Their mission is to ensure that the one who gives them that "tingly feeling running up and down their legs" gets a free pass from a proper vetting--Chris Matthews, et. al. anyone?
No, our beloved country is bereft of leaders. No one is responsible. We are all victims. No one will tell the honest truth about the lousy shape we are in--we are in a continual spin cycle.
Where have all the leaders gone? I think they have gone in hiding--ashamed of what they see, bewildered by the smothering cloud of political correctness that ensures the lack of honest public discourse.
