Are you Kidding Me?
I am so tired of everyone hating on "this administration" and blaming Bush for everything that has happened. First of all, Bush isn't causing the foreclosures on people's homes. The banks making horrible loans, loans called "paperless loans" where the bank takes a person's word about how much money they earn and other important things.....they have NOTHING to cover their butts when payments aren't being made and they have not a person but a ghost to go after. They gave out adjustable rate loans to people who shouldn't have had them in the first place and when the rate adjusted, they realized they could no longer afford their home. I work in that field and I see it every single day. The banks screwed up, not George W.
Secondly, if you all remember back to middle school where you learn how a bill is made in the government, you will remember that it is Congress that makes laws and decisions. Ever since the Democratic Congress took over, the economy and everything else that they have touched has gone to crap, but because Bush is President, you want to blame him instead.
Third, we should NEVER EVER EVER elect someone to control the most powerful military in the WORLD when they haven't served a single day in that military. That is like asking a fifth grader to build space shuttles for NASA.....
Lastly, why would anyone in their right mind elect someone to lead this country that hasn't even written a single piece of legislation, skips out on voting, and shows no signs of his love for this country? I proudly display the american flag at my home, at work, on my clothing! He can't even wear a button on his shirt or show repect during our National Anthem? To me that is disrespectful to your country and I would never put someone in charge of a country they don't respect.
I ask every person I know that supports Obama WHY they are voting for him. The only thing they can say is change. That's it! People don't even know why they are voting for this man! They can't tell me one good reason or one thing about him that stands out, other than he speaks intelligently, but if you listen he really just skates around issues rather well. People in this country need to wake up! Do your own research, get caught up on the issues, because this election is going to change a lot of things and if you elect Obama, I don't think the change you get is what you are wanting or expecting.
Drugs and the President
This is in reaction Jason from CA on your comment about Obama and drug use. Do you not know that our current president is a past drug abuser too? Cocaine would have been his drug of choice. Do your research. Drug use in politics does not see party lines. Obama's past drug abuse was reported on CNN's bio this past weekend also.
Also, is teen pregnancy a good example for our children? Especially comming from someone who preaches abstinence instead of education.
Ignorance is NOT bliss.
Remember, if we judges all by mistakes made in the past we would be left with very little on either side of the political lines. More important you should teach your children that out of mistakes we learn life's greatest lessons.

McCain's Tribulation Days: Swift Squealer?
John McCain has repeatedly admitted that he "broke" during painful interrogation sessions in a Viet Nam prison. While many civilians sympathize with McCain, others are asking why he keeps reminding us of this tearful incident (three decades later).
Indeed, in places like Parris Island (where Marines are trained) the rules are much different: Men and women in uniform are trained to never volunteer information under any circumstances.
In coming days there should be some search into why McCain broke down, including the possibility of a relapse, and what personal damage was done (and to whom). To suggest that it's acceptable to let down one's companions during severe interrogation sessions might assist a short-term political goal. But it will never go down in Parris Island. Not even the perception of such a fad.
Election campaigners may try to sweep McCain's admission under the rug. But if senior journalists fail to grasp the importance of his dramatic disclosure, perhaps they should consider other lines of work.

I am happy to see McCain up in the polls. No, I am not voting for him. First, these are national polls. State polls are more relevant, as it tells us where the voters are concentrated and which states are in play. Second, overconfidence is dangerous. I already sense that the GOP is sensing a victory because of the polling. You can count on them sticking to everything but the issues: I doubt we will hear a serious debate on health care (which I am betting most will side with the Democrats) until the debates. Third, apparently the GOP thinks its only problem in this election is that they didn't have a young, sexy woman on the ticket. It will make Obama's camp work harder, while the GOP is busy trumpeting its new star which they expect to trump all McCain's years in the Senate and Obama's last 19 months campaigning. I'm sure she's a magnificent woman. I don't think she's a magician, who with one speech can change the outcome of the race.

As someone who grew up near Chicago and it's corrupt political machine I am also certain that Barak Obama is clean as the driven snow.
In case you missed it, I am being sarcastic. I say this for the media types as they seem unable to discern much of anything on their own.
An important presidential election record will be broken this year, it is not the first time that a woman or Black person will be elected to the Executive office. We will be seeing the greatest American tragedy unfolding right before our eyes. It is one the very few time when a native son will not be elected by his own state. To make it worse, such native son is the greatest hero in an area which has always been the pride and joy of that state. Correct me if I am wrong. I have hardly heard any one at the Republican Convention or during their campaign mentioned the Annapolis Naval Academy, not even McCain himself. Being born in Panama to a naval family and travel all over this country and the world, McCain really does not have a true home. Arizona is a states he used for election to Congress which he has not visited frequently. The Navy Academy is the only place McCain can really call his home in which he had spent the happiest time of his college life with his navy friends. Maryland should welcome her naval son with open arms and elect him as president.
But, no! Maryland have 1.6 million Black or approximately 30 % of the state’s population or making her the “Black Capital” near the Capital of the U. S. It was 36 % to 61% (almost double) in favor of Obama over Hillary during the primary here. All media and people here have expressed the sad fact that little or no Marylanders will vote for McCain. I personally don’t like McCain very much but my conscience forced me to campaign for him. This episode is not only the greatest disgrace of all Americans but also of that of the human race. It is an unforgivable sin committed by all Marylanders, I am now ashamed to live in the state of Maryland. I suggest the Government relocates its Naval Academy out of Maryland. This time, the true and only battle ground states are not Ohio, Florida or Michigan but Maryland. The decision is not who is going to become president? But whether God had made a mistake in creating man?
With this letter I, as prophet, have ended this election right here and now!
