Pelosi to Obama: Raise Taxes. Raise Taxes Now.
Despite perhaps the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi still wants Barack Obama to raise taxes. She wants the immediate repeal of the Bush tax cuts for higher income Americans. Here is what she told the WaPo: "Put me down as clearly as you possibly can as one who wants to have those tax cuts for the wealthiest in America repealed." Duly noted.
One my favorite Capitol Hill observers puts it this way: "I think the biggest development is that key Dem Senators are telling Obama not to move forward on the tax cut that he proposed and campaigned on for the past 18 months! ... My summary of yesterday: No tax cuts, more government spending, and raise taxes now. That's a major turn of events if it plays out. "

Your article of 2007 on the 9-11 anniversary
stated that the economy was going strong despite bin ladens efforts. Well if you can take your yellow glasses off and just step back from the embroidered thing that is your politicized economics, you might say that bin ladens attack and the Bush reaction to it with this senseless homeland and overseas struggle did actually have its desired effect.
The billion that was lost in the attack and the 3 thousand who died have been multiplied by our own hand.You cant fight terrorism it is an un-uniformed soldier,
it is a thought and cannot be detected or stopped.
Let us Focus on making our products here and punish companies who export jobs.
Worrying about a possible attack is a waste of our resources, it will happen again eventually.
Let's focus on stopping the nukes and the toxins that can destroy all. This is where we must focus our energy and we should use our forces in a strike mode rather than a regular face to face conflict.
Pelosi and raising taxes
It looks like the idiots are finally running the asylym. Go ahead and raise taxes nancy. You will just make it easier to get rid of morons like you in two years. You may not realize it but you will have no one to blame as you democrats will be in charge of everything. I will just lay employees off and wait you out. Raise taxes and this economy will get worse, much worse.
95% will see a tax decrease?
I thought it would take longer for the Democratic party to reneg on their promise to lower taxes for 95% of Americans. America was dumb enough to give the dems the Congress and the White House this is what we get.
