Energy and McCain's Summer Surge

August 20, 2008 12:13 PM ET | James Pethokoukis | Permanent Link | Print

OK, the new L.A .Times-Bloomberg poll has Obama +2 vs. Obama +12 in June. The Battleground poll has McCain +1 vs. Obama+2 in May. And Zogby-Reuters has McCain +5 vs. Obama +7 in July. I think the internal numbers in the Battleground poll are quite revealing:

1) McCain went from +5 to +15 vs. Obama on the "strong leader" question.

2) McCain went from -24 to -15 on "represents middle-class values."

3) McCain went from -20 to -9 on "fights for people like me."

4) McCain went from -19 to +3 on "can reduce gas and energy prices."

5) McCain went from -21 to -9 on "will create jobs and improve the economy."

6) In the poll, 40 percent of respondents rated the economy as the first or second most important issue, while 29 percent rated gas prices as the first or second most important issue.

Me: It looks as if "Drill Here, Drill Now" has helped McCain hit a gusher.

Well, ain't this just peachy. McCain hit on a way to lie that has every buffoon in America listening. Dang, we're a stupid bunch of goofy sheep.

Drill here, drill now is the mantra by which the befuddled old adulterous beer dealer plans to DENY you any sensible reform of health care in America. Wake up, idiots. You're being had.

Yea, wake up and vote for a one-term Senator who's main lifetime achievement is being a "Community Organizer" in Chicago. That's the kind of "change" this country needs.

Obama is sure "changing" international relations with his strong views on Georgia (the one in Europe). That's the kind of leadership I want. Sorry so brief, I'm going on vacation.
