time and motion study
Mr. Barone's disparagement of time and motion study just shows his ignorance. This practice, introduced by Frederick W. Taylor and augmented by Lillian Gilbreth, was an important contributor to the Industrial Revolution. The results of such studies simply made the use of manpower more efficient, and not more difficult. This increased the value of the worker to the health of the enterprise, and served to improve profitability and insulate jobs which would otherwise be lost. Mr. Barone needs to look at history, and not rely on his own misinformation. William Bruner
Cute idea, but
the daily machinations of Congress have little effect on the market---despite ups and downs randomly coinciding with news out of Washington.
