High-Income Obama Voters Unsure About Big Government and Stimulus Bill

What does the public think about the stimulus package that has been passed by the House? Pollster Scott Rasmussen reports that currently 42 percent favor the stimulus package and 39 percent are opposed—a pretty close result. Last week he reported that the public favored the stimulus package (presumably as it was then constituted) by a 45 to 34 percent margin. I think we can conclude that the balance has shifted slightly. Interestingly, Rasmussen reports that higher earners tend not to support the stimulus package, even though Obama ran even with John McCain among high earners and was actually ahead among voters making over $200,000. Tentative conclusion: Some significant quantum of high income Obama voters are queasy about big government spending programs. The verdict on a stimulus program that is entirely tax cuts? Almost the same as to the Obama package: 43 percent in favor, 39 percent against, although of course different segments of the electorate respond very differently to the two approaches.

Will Obama Abolish The Penny? Who Caused The Crisis?

This is not a tough question, and has some serious consequences to the average "Joe Q. Citizen" and moreso to those on a fixed income,"where every penny counts." In eliminating the penny causes tax base, gasoline, food and just about everything purchased to be rounded up to the nearest nickel... Doing so may not mean a lot to those in the high earning capacities, but for the rest of us, especially in this disasterous economy, it clearly represents a loss,Remember "a penny saved is a penny earned). It is very clear that in reality this mess was caused by Barney Frank, Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid and the boys along with Maxine Watters, etc. Just as the ongoing stimulus efforts by the president and legislature will condemn our children and future generations to suffer the tax consequences of the trillions of dollars being spent for economic recovery. They lied cheased and stole from us and now blame it entirely on the financial corporations, notwithstanding they shoved it down the financial firms throats, then lied imperiously to the public that the system was in good shape, yet it was learly in trouble,THEY CAUSED IT!!! Time to buy a new rope and look for a tall tree! We can get these irresponsible and crooked politicians out of office but not soon enough. We can gain control of our government by the next election (to late now) by picking carefully and electing middle of the road and/or concervative office seekers by holding their feet to the fire should they even hint of having joined the "Good Ole Boys Club on Capitol Hill.

We will survive but rach of us has to participate in our government and hold our elected officials extremely accountable.

Mr. Amazing!!!

Wow, just when one thinks that they've heard it all, there's some poor soul spewing the sad narrowmindedness of a "Hanry Lamb", that - "Government has produced nothing, Government can produce nothing..."

My friend, the government of the United States of America put men on the moon, saved the world from the tyranny of the Nazis and other evil regimes, and has given the light of faith, hope, and opportunity to the world.

Open your heart, then your eyes.

Increase the Personal Exemption

This is a no brainer. It's a big tax cut to the poorest and families. To anyone in the middle, it helps, but isn't going to solve their need to pay mortgages without jobs.

The rich will not even be aware. If the President and Congress were not lying hypocrits, the personal exemption should be indexed at $5000, retroactive to Jan 2008!!
