George Bush Should Pardon Scooter Libby

Left Wing Bully
Could you please provide us with an example of someone on the right claiming the high moral ground.
Provide a link or point us to an article. My guess is you'll have trouble finding something.
What you'll find is "us on the right" claiming more often than not that human beings are imperfect, but that doesn't mean that there's no such thing as right and wrong.
We have are share of hypocrites on the right and they are usually expelled from our midst. On the left they tend to keep their commitee chairmanships.
We don't claim the high ground so much as we are appalled by the moral ambiguity of the left.
The Unvarnished Truth
The continuation of the myth that Clinton was impeached for a sexual escapade is convenient for those who refuse to understand that he lied under oath. Could have been about anything, but a lie under oath, and knowing full well it was a lie, was the crime. Not to give total absolution to Libby, but his failing was of a lesser degree, and a conflict of memory. Clinton makes millions on speeches, and continues afilliations with foreign sources that could be deemed dubious. I'd not be surprised at all to have Hillery denied the Sec of State appointment if any Senator worth his/her salt probed that background, and then we all could stop angishing over Princess Caroline's future employment, and Ms Clinton could remain NY's junior senator.

Rod Blogojevich is Serbian get your info right!
Rod Blogojevich is Serbian You idiot!
Sure, go ahead
I just have one question for you as you advocate a pardon for one of the most elevated members of the United States government, who was convicted of perjury for his part in compromising a CIA operative and lying to a federal prosecutor about it:
Are you insane or just pathetic?
Damn, those law thingies are just so inconvenient, aren't they? Certainly those law thingies shouldn't apply to, say, your buddies.
This again?
Libby was convicted by a jury. Like every other defendant, his attorneys have dozens of clever arguments that make it all seem a miscarraige of justice.
But the WSJ article ignores a larger point. Let's say that Libby's conviction is unjust. WHENEVER a President pardons a member of his own administration, his action does nothing to wipe the slate clean, but instead only adds to the impression of partisanship and corruption. That applies to the crimes of all members of all adminstrations, whether the wrongdoing involves Whitewater or Watergate. If you allow it in a just case with impunity, you allow it in an unjust case, and you have essentially declared all members of all adminsitrations above the law.
There is still such a thing as conflict of interest. Presidents simply should not engage in purging the criminal convictions of those who served beneath them. Period. It is corrosive of justice and the remaining slim trust the people have in government. You, as a member of the media, and an American, should decry a conflict of interest whenever it appears.
Libby was fined - you think unjustly, and I think justly - not imprisoned. He paid his fine shortly after the commutation. Tens of thousands of people are losing their homes, and more are losing their jobs, and the most important thing on your mind is the horrible injustice done to this brave man Libby? Seriously, sir, what, exactly, is wrong with you?
Ramos & Compean First
I am far more interested in freeing former BP Agents Ramos & Compean than a pardon for Scooter Libby. Libby did not spend a single day in prison (and if he had, it would have been a country club prison). Ramos and Compean have spent the past two years in solitary confinement thanks to George Bush's "good friend" Johnny Sutton.
But then, Ramos and Compean aren't elitists so why would there be any interest in them?
George Bush Should Pardon Scooter Libby
That Libby was even brought to trial is a travesty - for he is utterly innocent.
And to those who say "Libby was convicted (bla, bla, bla)"...
My answer to that is, let's put you and 10 of your friends through the same ordeal as Libby.
Innocent or not, several of you will be convicted.
And if you don't believe that's true, you don't understand the power of a Federal-level prosecution.
No way
If anything Libby should be tried for Treason!!!!
He should rot in jail with his other cronies who sold out our country the past 8 yeats.
Rot in Hell
Libby was part of a criminal conspiracy to lie the US into a criminal war in Iraq. Like virtually all the neocons and neowitz's, he was a draft dodging coward. He should be in prison and be joined by cheney, wolfowitze, feith, krystol, bolton and, oh yes, bush.
