Democrats are not as stupid as you seem to think. Yes, they have a majority now, but some cooler heads than in the past will steering the ship. I'll be very surprised if the Democratic Party is ready to collapse in 4 years, despite the horrendous mess now facing the new government.
As to Saxby Chambliss being such a "good man", even here in Arizona we were treated to the absolutely below the belt ads he ran, associating Max Cleland with terrorists, and implying that he was "soft". It made me cringe, and it caused me to remember his name when I would have no other reason to do so. Sometimes what comes around does go around. We shall see.
Barone Blog on Georgia Senate race
There goes Barone burying the Democrats again. He's done that for so long you would think he would have broken his shovel by now. Old Saxby should win, this is Georgia for God sakes. The fact that this race is in a run-off is just a testament
to how low the GOP has sunk. Chambliss ran a despicable ad against Cleland and he deserves what ever happens to him. I'm sure a Chambliss victory will be hailed as a victory for bi-partisanship by Barone, just as he thought George W. was the beginning of a new Republican millennium. Mike, you could have talked to a janitor at the state capitol in Austin,Texas and they would have told you the boy was all hat.
Truth being a stranger most of the time, my guess is that Martin would actually be more of a force for compromise than "Grumbles Chambliss".
Hopefully, the people of Georgia will choose a new day for their great state and for our wonderful country. It certainly did my heart glad to see Florida, North Carolina and the capitol state of the Confederacy,Virginia, helping to elect a black man to our highest office.
Then there's corruption
Who knows -- maybe Georgians might just gag at giving six more years to a Senator who browbeat a whistleblower during a Senate hearing over the explosion at Imperial Sugar Factor that killed 14 people.
Then again, better having a Senator who's in the pocket of a powerful sugar company than one who harbors "San Francisco values."
P.S. -- Is it a San Francisco value to believe workers shouldn't be blown to bits in sugar factories?

Let the President pick "His" advisors. Stop all the complaining about the people he might be planning to select. Let him pick who he wants.
As far as the Senate races I say let them have a super majority. Why? They will be allowed to get everything they want and when it doesn't work out there will be no one and I mean no one to blame but them. If for the next 4 years the Republicans need to continue to offer alternatives, voice opposition without obstruction, and explain their policies in a clear and understandable manner. If they do they will win everything in the next election cycle, but the biggest benefit will be that the Democratic party will be very close to collapse.
Think about, does anyone think the Democratics can handle all the power in DC?
They will be like a bunch of drunk sailors and that is an insult to drunk sailors.
Stop Obama's Socialism
The reason that Americans dont want the GM bailout is that we know that it wont help save jobs, help the economy, or fix the car companies. All it does is enable the UAW, who pretty much is killing GM right now with contracts that require huge retirement healthcare benefits that GM cannot afford ... to not renegotiate these contracts.
Let GM go bankrupt, like airlines went bankrupt, and the business can still run. IF GM DOES THE RIGHT THING AND DECIDES NOT TO TAKE TAXPAYER MONEY, I WILL SUPPORT THEM BY MAKING MY NEXT PURCHASE A GM CAR. MAYBE IF ONE MILLION AMERICANS JOINED ME IN THAT COMMITMENT WE COULD SAVE THE TAXPAYERS.
We have a great danger that the left-wing Democrat Congress and Obama will abuse their power to advance socialistic ends; mandates on healthcare, cap-and-trade that will kill jobs; abusing power to gain control over industry and in the proces hurt the economy and our freedom. The risk exists because there is NOT CHECK AND BALANCE TO THE LEFT-WING ANYMORE. Chambliss is needed for that reason alone.

Saxby Chambliss is a good man and YOU are the jerk for attacking him. Max Cleland was a bad senator and he doesnt get off simply because he was in an accident with a hand grenade many years ago. Cleland has milked the sympathy for his missing limbs far too much; its typical "I'm a victim" Democrat mentality. He was simply wrong on the issues. the PATRIOTS will vote for Chambliss and send him back to stand up for what is right against the bad ideas coming from Pelosi, Reid and the leftwing Democrats in power in DC.
The 48% saying they prefer American auto companies in bankruptcy are most likely the recent buyers of foreign cars. After all, WHO else would "prefer" for the companies that have the warranty responsibility on new cars to skate away from it in Chapter 7 or 11?
As for Saxby Chambliss, he's the jerk who trashed veteran and multiple-amputee Max Cleland to get elected six years ago. THAT is the reason he should be defeated, and those redneck "patriots" down there in hick Georgia ought to be leading the charge to do so. But noooooo, they're the same kind of ungrateful jerks as Chambliss.
