The Candidate

For all of those reading this, I hope to God that McCain gets in!!!! That Obama guy scares me, like who is he & where did he come from??? At least McCain FOUGHT for this country & has more knowledge that Obama does!!!! Obama keeps making promise after promise but what has his past actions proved; what has he done??? Well if it weren't for Obama & his democratic party this country wouldn't be in such a mess with this mortgage crisis. At least McCain tried to vote to stop this mess. Just rethink before you vote...Thanks!

A few tings I can't ignore

I'm a life long democrat. NEVER voted for a republican. There are a few things about Senator Obama that I cannot ignore.

He bought a house, for 300,000 under asking price, with the stipulation that the property adjoining it was purchased at the same time. That property was purchased by Tony Rezco's wife for 600,000 in the same week that it was announced that Tony Rezco was being investigated for multiple felonies (for which he has subsequently been found guilty) regarding the fraudulent use and misappropriations of low income housing within Obama's district. I don't care if it's one property or 15, it's still fraud and under the nose of one of the men who should have been most concerned, if his real concern is for the poor in his district! Their relationship goes way, way back. Acorn's involved here too. Now, if Rezco’s wife and her sham business that received oodles of money in the same scam, had been lily white, I guess one could assume no conflict, but she wasn't. To me, this smells bad.

All that I can say about Ayers is I wouldn't shake that creep's hand. I guess some do what they feel is morally correct and others that which is beneficial personally, regardless of the moral implications.

His record of political "action" in Chicago amounts to primarily failed programs and overt fraudulent activities. His associations there amount to a picture of ethically questionable associations and what looks like allot of back room deals. Chicago Politics. His record in congress is almost laughable. He did barely any work, took no stands against his party line and the only things of note that he sponsored and passed were nice things but hardly earth shattering legislation. take for example S.Con.Res. 96: A concurrent resolution commemorating Irena Sendler, a woman whose bravery saved the lives of thousands during the Holocaust and remembering her legacy of courage, selflessness, and hope. Again, nice, worthy even, but hardly earth shattering in it's impact on the state of the United States.

The Acorn situation has my attention right now, for attempting voter fraud and that involves the rest of the Dems too. Acorn and it's connections with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the whole sale handover of our economy so that the Dems could be everyone's favorite and win many votes. Utterly contemptible, hopefully prosecutable . They sold out or economy for power and money and sweetheart mortgages. I am so disappointed in my party who have become just a bunch of loud mouth thugs who seem to have misplaced their moral compass.

Now don't even bother calling a racist. That is absurd. I keep hearing the great Dr. King's words in my head, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." By the content of their character.

I can vote for Senator McCain, I cannot vote for Senator Obama.

BARONE v 'LIBERALS"

Our family were proud 40+yr GOP supporters. Bush/Cheney slowly eroded our support until 2005 we could stomach it no more and our entire family changed to the INDIE party. We pray the day when we can once again support the principles/dogma of the once great GRAND OL PARTY.

I doubt our parents (in their early 80's)will live to see this happen. WHY? People like Mr Barone, Thomas Sowell;no one of any intelligence should take the Limbaughs, Hannitys and others specifically on FOX political news seriously, their agenda's are patently one-sided. It is the Barones and Sowells who continually disgust us with their articles that conviently leave out truths. Sowell, for example, in one of his recent articles, blaming the liberals for everything wrong, doesn't bother mentioning that the republicans had control of the White House and Congress from 2001-2005, apparently not important enough to mention in his blame the democratic party game. Barone in his Oct 11th article, doesn't mention how the de-regulation of the FAIRNESS Doctrine lead the way for monopolist

media giants to take control of American airways so that in his mind, fairness must mean only if the conservatives have the ability to control the majority then thats FAIR. If the airwaves must be regulated so that EVERYONE has an equal chance, Mr Barone believes something is wrong.

Now, William Ayers, a bad man from the 1960's, for sure. We all agree on that. Does Barone show us current evidence, lets say from the 80's,90's,2000's of his being still a "bad man"? No, there is no mention of that fact. If there was, I would think he would provide proof of evidence. But what really stood out, what really showed Barones lack of ethics, what really continues to disgust us with the current conservative movement is Barone's attempt to speak of a domestic terrorist from around 40 yrs ago with no current problems. Barones just ignores McCain's unethical behavior of 20 yrs ago with the Keating 5. Hey Mr Barone, Resolution Trust Co ring any bells in your selective memory.

We were jumping at the bit for McCain in 2000 ourselves. He either fooled us completely or changed his stance on many things. Regardless, it is columnists like Barone, like Sowell, intelligent men, who willingly ignore facts to present one-sided words. Dishonest men, unethical men, who refuse to see what is wrong with what they do. These are not patriotic Americans, patriotic Americans see and feel what is wrong with American and want to work to make it a better place. We are great, these men lie and cheat, twist their words. Any interesting side note is that neither men mentioned above has a direct email address for contact. Check out other columists and you will almost always find a way to directly contact them.

These will spit their 1/2 truths and then hide behind their "mommys" truth. THEY ARE COWARDS. WE WANT OUR PARTY BACK.

Polls and Debate

At this rate McCain might have a little bit of a lead on Obama, but O-H-I-O is still up for grabs. I am from Ohio and it is a big battleground as of now. In the pre- Presidential polls McCain is estimated about 3% on Obama as far as Ohio goes. That 3% are the people that have not determined their voting status. I am one of those people in that 3%. I just can’t bring myself to terms with this election because it seems more like a popularity contest. I am sick of hearing who is wrong for the job. I want to know who is right. I want someone that wants to lead our country to lead us, not just to win over the other. If they would spend more time expressing their views on what they will do and not on what the other isn’t going to do, maybe we would have some progress

Disenfanchised homeowners

Can you explan how the republicans are trying to disenfachise homeowners. the kast thing that I heard was that McCain is helping with problem mortages?

yeah

GO OBAMA!!!!!

Ridiculous

The president isn't everything. Everyone blames Bush for our problems. He hasn't helped. But he also isn't the cause of it all. (Except for the choice to go to war) - We have a senate and house of reps who control a lot more of the government than the measly little president. And recently it's been highly populated with democrats. If the government is at fault for the economy than why are republicans bashed when it's a democratic show right now?

Unbelievable Stuff

First, THANK YOU Dusty from CO.!!!

Nicole from WA...Do you know any small business owners? Talk to them about Obama's "actual tax break".

Finally, Kaitlyn of WI. How old are you? Are you kidding me?

Penultimate.

That stuck out like dogs' balls.

My thoughts? Michael Barone is an idiot.
