The surge strategy may have helped settle things down in Iraq but considering we shouldn't have ever been there in the first place negates the point. Now we have a major problem brewing in Afghanistan. If we had taken care of business there maybe Bin-Laden would be captured or dead and Al-Qaeeda would be nearly dead.
As far as drilling for offshore oil, that would be a rather insignificant short term solution to the overall problem of a need for alternative energy. We have 3% of the oil reserves but use 25% of all oil. We can drill for the oil but we need a committment to alternative energy that President Carter made but Reagan abondoned in the early 80"s.

We may be dumb but we're not stupid, the present administration sunk this campaign before it ever started! Of course they knew that they couldn't bury their horrendous record of the last 8 years even under a pile of disclaimers. The pick of Palin has a VP candidate only added another nail to the coffin! McCain was merely the sacrificial goat and the more the country see's and hears of Palin the further his campaign sinks. The next president won't be able to get us out of this mess in 4 years or 40 years! Guess who will be all gussied up for the ball in 2012? The republican party after all the Dems had 4 years to undo the last 30 years of Republican mismanagement!

Obama is the MOST LIBERAL SENATOR, far liberal than Nanci pelosi. Obama VOTED four times AGAINST providing medical care to BORN-ALIVE BABIES, (INFANTICIDE). This is SO CRUEL that even Nanci Pelosi with all other senotors VOTED FOR the identical federal bill, BORN ALIVE INFANT PROTECTION BILL.
Voters have the RIGHT TO KNOW why Obama launched his FIRST POLICAL CAREER ( Illinois state senator) at Ayers’ HOUSE . But Obama CONTINUES TO EVADE the question, which reveals something far SUSPICIOUS. This question is LEGITIMATE, NOT PERSONAL ATTACK as mainstream media try to label it to SUPRESS CRITICISM on OBAMA.

In addition, Obama won his first election by having his lawyers KNOCK ALL HIS OPPONENTS (four opponents) OFF THE BALLOT on technicalities and he was ALONE ON THE BALLOT.
McCain Advantage
The NY Times and the Lib. media, especially CNN and CNBC have been trying for some time now to get Obama, the most dangerous man to run for the highest office of the US of A, elected. Now the Times of UK has also joined in.
Obama’s past associations are a reflection of his future and God forbid that this man should take office.
If nothing else, he is the US version of Neville Chamberlain and we know what a mess this gross appeaser and weakest of British PM’s left behind for Churchill, FDR and later, Truman to sort out!
Finally, Obama enjoys the backing of 93% of blacks, which is a level of support even Sadam Hussein would have been impressed with. The trouble is, this makes it the most racial of all elections in US history. Come Nov.4th, the backlash in the ballot boxes would shock even the most rabid of right-wing pollsters!
War and Politics
Let's not forget how the Romans lost their country to their war efforts. Our political ideas are, in many way, like those old Romans. As war seams to be some peoples only way of solving
a problem they don't seem to care if innocent people fall away, just to get way. War with the cost that breaks down our countries economy is not an answer to making the problem go away. Listening to people who how to communicate with others is the best approach.

McCain left Michigan..so now will he leave Pa., Fla., Ohio etc. voters & volunteers here are upset...wealthy people here in Mich hosted fundraisers for Romney & McCain. & he left us flat. do not know the strategy of that. do you Mr Barone? you're a Cranbrook grad .McCain & wife left debate hall early & Obamas stayed, posed for photos & enjoyed small talk. tonight Michelle Obama on L King live 9 pm EST WED...we will see a BIG difference between Palin & Mrs. Obama .....Go Home Palin..you are being used....he is very selfish....& spoiled..

Why did the maverick who exhorted us to fight with him at his convention disappear? Why did McCain give up the big advantage of being one of the Cassandras who warned against the impending mortgage meltdown? An absence of strong, guiding conservative convictions and a belief that Washington, ultimately, held the answer. Republicans beware: if all you can think to offer is a big government solution, you'll always be outdone by the Democrats.
