Democrats Were Wrong on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

Yet HR3221 barely made it past the house with 163 Republican "Nays".
I'm still tracking backward but so far I see that HR3221 was introduced in July 2007.
It passed in the House in August of '07 in spite of 83% of republicans voting "nay".
It was rejected in the Senate Cloture in Feb of 08 with nearly unanimous republican "nay" votes.
It finally passed the Senate in July of '08 with 25% of republicans voting "nay".
Something fishy about the the GOP and the 17 times they tried to seek changes to the housing reg. For all I know right now, the introduced and defeated they're own bills. Or, there were bills that were passed that were then Vetoed by the Pres. There's a lot of ways that things can happen so that one can claim "17 times they tried to seek changes". Perhaps he left it on a little note on the bulletin board.
Every time I read one of these things, I notice a lack of evidence that would leave me saying "Yeah, you couldn't make that up." In fact, I notice a lack of evidence at all.
What were these bills that the Republican's introduced? By the number and title please.
What were the votes? Where there reasons that certain legislators might have voted against them that had nothing to do with the intent of the bill? Like some earmark? Or that the bill didn't actually do what it's title proposed? (i've seen that)
Rebublicans were sleeping for 6 years?
I've heard this criticism again and again.
CAN ANYONE explain what the heck Republicans doing for 6 years in the recent past when they had full control?
If Bush warned so many times, why did the Republicans stayed making money from lobbyists rather than avoiding this disaster.
You are just another political hypocrite! Stop writing and misleading people.

I notice you never mention the Lobbyists Group the GOP hired to counteract any form of policy or reulagtion changes, and that the it was a myth put about by the GOP, that 17 times they tried to seek changes to the housing reg but the Democrats it was their fault everything turn to custard,NO the inquiry is bringing out all the nastys no.put the blame where it should be.with BUSH and the GOP
One out of 17 tries??? Respond the CHICAGO way.
Housing drops, gas prices soaring, market plunging.
The big 3 that put Obama over the top.
And the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac problem as part of the market...
And (of course) Bush is the president who is left holding all the blame (truth notwithstanding).
------------
I suggest a modified CHICAGO POLITICS approach. Call a spade a spade. As many Chicago politicians do. Develop the short, blunt description.
---Save the details for those who want read (or click on) the in-depth analysis on a blog or Facebook or the Congressional Record.
(But - unlike some Chicago politicians, avoid the ad hominen, but ATTACK REGULARLY euphemistic, dishonest phrases.)I.e. the Fairness Doctrine should be quotes as "the so-called Fairness Doctrine".
Republicans are too much being pushed into killer compromises on key issues - which come back to burn---them -& not the Democrats. As illustrated here.
Republicans need to not bend on certain key issues - and they need to reiteate key phrases in public, on Facebook - other current media - and in their speeches.
Expect the misquote later on. And speak, act accordingly.
And KNOW your constituents!
Bill Clinton
i always wonder when i see Bill Clinto and his Gangs, Paul Bagala, james Careville taking Credit for 90 economic boom. it make me nerveux. what ever good that happened during these years Bill Clinto brague about. in terms of economy, and other business, he always say he is the one that did this and that.but let me tell you sometime, i not Alan greespan, nore im bernake, but who is the president during these years would be credited for the economic boom. because the economic booms was trigered by the Dot com buble, and other new inventions. in addition bill Clinton rejected any bad thing that happened during that time, it can be in area of national security, international affair. in regard to the international such as Aids , when you ask bill Clinton why he did save Rwanda from Genocide, how about aid for African nations in terms of economy, health. he alway said that the republican congress did not gave the chance to do so. what i want people to ask why he taking credit for a lot things that happened under the same republican Congress. things such as welfare reforms, budget balancing.

McCain co sponsered the bill in 2005? All repblicans approved it all Democrats opposed so it failed. Weren't Republicans the majority in 2005?
And if this is true, why didn't McCain use this instead of the Ayers crap he was trying to sell the country
Sommething is rotten with this tale.
David Asman, Financial Collapse, aired 10-4-08 on Fox News
Does anyone know where I can get a transcript or video of this segment by David Asman on Fox News that originally aired on October 4th? It was a segment called "Financial Collapse" and how this mess that we are in started and how it happened and who caused it. It seems to have totally disappeared off of everything.
Thank you.
Who's Piloting The Ship?
It appears no one is to blame. It would also appear that no one knows what/when/why/how it happened. Except for the critics. All of the critics know exactly what happened, whose to blame for it happening and what should happen to those at fault. If only the critics ran the world we would have no problems... the laugh felt good.
