How does one not know about a Governor from a state in the Union, let alone with one with a surplus. Her managment of the Permanent Fund should be commended and shared with the Lower 48. The Fund has 30 Billion dollars and was saved after government spent there oil money in the late 70's. Obama and Biden have not been able to budget their own states or DC. Palin is not a woman who has NO experience it is that the Lower 48 has NO experience with Governor Palin.

I lived in Alaska for 10 years and this is a woman that has gone against her own good ol' boy party, has a budget surplus and can stand up and laugh at her self in the liberal media. Her knowledge about the needs of those with disabilities is a very important one.

Natural Citizen

Does Berg v. Obama have any merit? Is Barack a naturalized citizen of the USA?

Alaska/Russia

Alaska is near Russia? That is the craziest thing I have ever heard in my life. Beauty Queen? So? What does this have to do with anything? Maybe Mr. Barone needs a mental health check up. This are the best arguments you can make that someone is qualified?

I have never been so shocked by stupidity in all my life.

WTF?

Mike wrote this:

"Foreign policy experience? Well, Alaska is the only state with a border with Russia. And it is the only state with territory, in the Aleutian Islands, occupied by the enemy in World War II."

Someone please tell me how those two items are related >>directly<< to Palin.

And furthermore, Alaska was not a state during World War II, so we're really stretching here to make this argument. Technically, any state that was in the CSA was the "enemy" of the U.S. during the Civil War, so does that mean that the governor of a border state in 2008 has some sort of "foreign policy experience" by default?

And hey, Gov. Crist, Florida is 90 miles from Cuba. I guess you're basically a world affairs expert.

Beginning with the fact that ALL humans are flawed and make mistakes, it is still possible to see an incandescent contrast between those who walk down paths lit by truth and those who stumble in the dark, tripping after ways that look good but ultimately go nowhere...

No matter how bright his speeches and how hip his "cosmopolitan" style, BHO stumbles in the dark.

John McCain and Sarah Palin are the only morally defensible candidates for president and vice president of the United States of America. At this time, there is no way to change this fact.

Uh huh.....

"Foreign policy experience? Well, Alaska is the only state with a border with Russia"

You know how stupid that sounds don't you? You can't possibly be that ignorant to actually think that proximity equals knowledge. Or maybe this is just the rhetoric of a desperate tool scrambling for some kind of pathetic justification for an insultingly ridiculous VP choice.

Just shoot yourself Michael, that single selfless act will increase the aggregate IQ of the planet by a full point.

Issues with Palin's convention speech

All attack and no substance. Ungracious in attacks against the Democratic presidential candidate who strongly rejected attacks against her pregnant teenager. In researching her political history, she will support drilling for oil at all costs including assault on Alaska's natural resources. Her belief that global warming is not impacted by human cause has no scientific basis. Just as the Bushes are in the hands of the Saudis to enrich their oil investments, she failed to fess up to owning a gas station when running for the governorship. Very fishy!

Disgusted in MI

hey uncle michael =)

Foreign Policy experience?

So, Gov. Palin has foreign policy experience because Russia is on the other side of Alaska? By all accounts, this calls for the Govenor of Maine becoming an expert because his state borders Canada. As for the Japanes occupying the Alutians, yeah, but I don't think Gov. Salin was even born much less governing Alaska, then a territory, and not a state, so chances were that a governor was appointed and not elected.
