Is Immigration a Killer Issue for Congress?

how about diversity in immigration?

Long before this issue blew out in the open, Mexico had a higher legal immigration here than many countries -

The solution Quotas?

Part one - The liberal cry of diversity can be part of the cure -increase amount so legals -simplify the system -for an indefinite period, only bring the new ones in from a broad diversity of other cultures and countries to bring balance and fairness to the system, with one major criteria - they must assimilate immediately and accept US law not Sharia as dominant and exclusive.

Part two close the borders - no amnesty -punish companies and individuals severely if they violate border laws -send illagals back if caught

Part three -impeach any president -jail any bureaucrat - vote out any politician who doesn't enforce and support the new easier immigration law of the land.

Part four - all illegals(from any nation) caught doing crime, receive mandatory double or triple maximum sentence for the crime

Part five- give McCain a shovel and let him build the damned fence.

McCain is the only candidate who learned from the last failed attempt at immigration reform. His position now is that we must secure the borders first before we can deal with any amnesty issues.

He was also the only candidate who voted to increase the number of legal visa's whereas Obambi voted for the poison pill that killed increase of the legal visa numbers. How can we ever resolve the immigration issues if we don't agree to something as basic as increasing the number of legal visas from 200,000 to 600,000.

AS for going to Mexico and Columbia they are our best allies in South America a continent full of dictators like Chavez. Columbia is helping with our drug wars and Mexico is one of our biggest oil suppliers, because Obambi and the Dems will not allow us to unleash the power of our resources by drilling offshore.

So yes I think that it is very important that McCain maintain good relations with our natural economic trading partners. And I applaud him for his willingness to work with both the pro and anti immigration factions to get a resolution of this immigration mess.

Is Immigration a Killer Issue for Congress?

I have to quibble with Gloria a bit. I don't think the the rising anti-immigrant anger is caused so much by simple racism as it has been provoked by the arrogant and increasingly outspoken La Raza attitude that America's immigration laws, the world's most generous, aren't generous enough to suit La Raza and therefore illegal immigration is a La Raza civil right. Plus the fact that in dealing with the situation many members of America's political and media elites seem more concerned with what Mexican citizens and politicians think they're entitled than what American citizens want. For example, rather than stay here and address the rising economic hysteria McCain is on a junket to Mexico and Columbia, presumably to sell 'comprehensive immigration reform' to voters there.

Illegals

It makes me laugh when I read or hear there are only 12 million Illegals.

10 yrs. ago the news was reporting 12 million Illegals.

Apparently we must have secured the Borders 100%.

If you want to be more accurate start reporting appr. 20 - 25 million illegals.

illegal immigration

I suggest we treat illegal immigrants the way Mexico treats their own. They have Central American immigrants trying to enter illegally so they can travel north. They are summarily expelled.

Walk into any emergency room of a hospital and look at who is there. The Los Angeles County Hospital system is going bankrupt from illegal immigration. I am there every week. I review Workers Compensation claims. Millions of illegal immigrants come here with second grade educations (They claim) and are illiterate in Spanish, let alone English. They develop back problems by age 35 and are disabled soon after.

Legal immigration is also broken and I agree that major reform there is needed. Illegal immigration has to be stopped until we see evidence of assimilation and economic progress. We cannot afford what is happening now.

They are ILLEGAL and are NOT immigrants!

This is a blanket statement and does not cover every situation. What part of ILLEGAL go these people not understand?

They come here and REFUSE to assimilate. They are forcing AMERICANS to change our way of life in order to please them.

They call ANYBODY that opposes them a racist and no one, especially white people, want to be called a racist. That is the worst thing something someone can call you.

WHY?

Because you cannot prove you are not and these people know it. In my opinion they are the racist.

Wake up America, we are being invaded. Look up LaRaza (the race), "Aztlan" and "reconquista" and you will quickly discover what these people are up to.

Illegal immigration is like having ants in your kitchen. Take the sugar off of the counter and the ants go away. We need to put MASSIVE pressure on employers and call them out publicly. They will quit hiring them and most of them will simply go away. No fence needed.

Lets fix legal immigration first

If you want to stop illegal immigration, it is pretty obvious that we need to fix legal immigaration. It is the most screwed up system of all the developed world. A legal immigrant need to wait for 5 -6 yrs depending on what the mood of USCIS is... c'mon give a break.

ASBESTOS

And most that support "legalization and amnesty" know nothing of natinal security, border security, seconomics, and law in general.

Whether the current system is archaic or not is not the question, the real answer is that the laws can be changed, but ty AMERICAN CITIZENS REPRESENTATION, not the lobbying of racist Mexican and Hispanic organizations, and certianly not the Mexican Government. IT is the Mexican Government and the appeasers of Mexico in the Congress that is making this a problem

Additionally, If you pukes think the U.S. Immigration laws are problematic, Look at Mexico's or ant other nations. They simply do not "let everyone in" and they do not give benefits and "amnesty" to illegal entrants. Those illegal entrants are jailed in just about every country. Europe is doing this now, and is coming out against the ilelgal immigration.

The problem is the source countries the suck so bad, and never change, that people are forced to leave.

Migration that is not legal is a Global problem, and the solution is to overthrow governments that have their people leaving in droves. In 1970 Mexico wqas 28 million, today they are 107 million, and according to the Mexican Consulates there is 28 million Mexicans in the US, greater than their 1970 population, and greater than one quarter of their population.

No this is not a US problem, and the NEWS MEDIA needs to pull their head out of their rear ends and report TRUTHFULLY and candidly on it.

It would get fixed if the media was a beacon of truth looking out for humanity.

AMERICANS & Immigration Law

Most of the posters who decry amnesty and oppose any legalization program have very little knowledge about U.S. immigration law or the history of U.S. immigration law. This is reflective about the general American population who have little idea about immigration law.

The current immigration system is archaic, tedious and arcane, three qualities that contribute heavily to the massive underground system of illegal immigration. If the lawful means of entering the U.S. were more efficient, then there wouldn't be so much illegal immigration. Its the laws on the books, stupid!!

In the 1920s when alcohol was banned, a massive system of illegal bootlegging and alcohol manufacturers popped up in every major city. This serves as a good example of reactionary laws that are created without rationale or debate. Current immigration law is so onerous, that its easier to cross the border than file paperwork with USCIS. If you Americans want to know how much of a disastrous mess USCIS is, then imagine filling out an application for a Driver's License at a DMV where the computer system is malfunctioning.

Illegal illegal illegal!

Does ayone here have respect for the law anymore????I know the answer to that.--

NO....

..And if either Obama or McLame get their way this country will be the socialist state Ted Kennedy has worked for all his life. Why ,...these intruders won't miss mexico because they will have turned this country into a similar cesspool. Get all the free drugs, violence and gang banging you want courtesy of idiots like Barone who can't see beyond the end of their nose.
