Why Did Obama Change Positions on Iraq?

Let's see, the family that owns Blackwater dibates $250,000 to Bush and the Republicans and then cashes in from the war they start, yet the only dot Barone wants to connect are from Barack Obama to a contract Tony Rezko sought but didn't get.

When war becomes too profitable, it becomes too probable, and the links between war profiteers and the Bush Adminstration represent a scandal that dwarfs anything else in my lifetime (and yes, I lived through Watergate).

"Bush and McCain have much in common. Both came from wealthy families, both were wild kids, both were arrogant and did not like to live by the rules the rest of us live by---and both have lost military records. Coincidence? Will McCain be investigated to find out the real truth? Hero or cowboy? Oh! investigations are only for Democrats."

Umm, McCain did not come from money. Influence and power, he did come from, but certainly not money. He took the John Kerry way and married someone who has money. And how in the hell does McCain have lost military records. His career has been examined throughout his entire life.

And right now, investigations *ARE* only for Democrats. Lessee, there's Dodd, Conrad, Jefferson, Eric Holder, Jim Johnson, etc., etc., etc. Of course, the Democrats won't investigate themselves.

So, lostinspace....

You think it's alright that we Americans continue to pay $4 and up per gallon for gas, and give our money to people who can care less about us, and we shouldn't be looking in our own backyard for energy? Just think of all the money, all of the potential jobs created, all of the revenues to the government(s), all of the potential innovations we have left on the table for more than 30 years because the true group of special interests that have a grip on Washington - namably environmentalists - have convinced politicians that it is in their best interest to go against the will of the people and prevent domestic oil production?

And don't even get me on flip flops from the candidates. Barack Obama has flipped so many times in this campaign that he can no longer tell which direction he is facing. But alas, with you Obama supporters he can tell you he is facing south, even though he would be facing East, and you people would cheer uncontrollably for the man.

Bush/McCain

Bush and McCain have much in common. Such a funny statement - if you look at history there is little correlation between experience and success in the office of the President. McCain may have experience, but he's clearly beholdant to the special interests that he represents - and would be continuation of the Bush policies.

Ok - then let's get started with investigating the Enron loophole created by Phil Gramm (McCain's economic advisor) and his wife - and let's look at the economic policies of John McCain in relationship to the oil money he's taken.

Ah yes - the next typical Repubican slander - he's a muslim! Watch out!

McCain's flip is silly - takes 10-15 years to get oil out of a new site. And, if the Republicans are truly states-rights activists that they claim to be, then they'll rule that the states can decide - and then nothing will happen because the neither state wants it (despite what the Governor of Florida said). Let's call it what it is: pandering.

The only sillier thing that McCain has done is call the end of the gas tax for the summer. Again: pandering.

McCain is doing so many flips because he's trying to pull the hard right of the Republican campaign into his camp, and so he's reduced to changing his view on any number of issues.

Everyone should investigate everything said...

The man is running for the highest power in the world. Everything he and every other candidate say and do SHOULD be ACCURATELY reported and INVESTIGATED where needed.

The man has little to no experience with foreign policy and in Washington. (Especially considering he's taken the past 18 months off work to campaign)

I don't want someone who is wet behind the ears BARELY running the country in which I live in a time of war when we have another candidate whom has BEEN to war as a choice.

Ah yes, the right wing hate machine out in full force between the Renzko accusations and now that Obama supposedly flip-flopped on the war. I'd say "know theyself" - McCain has flipped on at least 5-7 issues in just the past two weeks. So, if you're saying that Obama is a wuss, doesn't that also make McCain a wuss?

Why does Michael Barone hate Obama so much?

Is he so afraid of Obama winning the election that he's willing to sacrifice what's left of his journalistic integrity?

Wow you are pretty slow, People have been screaming this on the blogs for Months, but NOW you think it is worth looking into how Rezko and his friend Auchi (Saddam's Money man, who leant Rezko 3.5 right before Rezko who was broke bought Obama's side yard) played a role in Obama being against the war? Also while you are at it, why don't you look into why Wright and Farrakhan were against the war and how that played into Obama's wonderful judgement.

OF course When Obama was still running against Hillary you couldn't mention this. The great media, what a dissapointment, first you run us into war and now this disgrace.

Funny thing how Barone will waste space speculating on a rumor, and not spend a moment's time with those who have been shown, documented and proven, to have profited from the Iraq War, and how those profiteers all lead back to the Bush administration and the pockets of their cronies. Would Barone please address the Halliburton and KBR disgrace? Not on your life! Please - it's ALL about discrediting a Dem candidate with gossip and flimsy speculation.
