Obama must choose Polosi

Yes, he is a charismatic and accountable person, very understanding and educated. But that is not an end to it self, to become a president he must choose Nancy for gender balance and to have women turn over in the G E.

V.P nominees

It seems to me that in this 2008 election year ,of change, Americans can redily see that the use of government powers has been unequivocaly used for every thing other than the concept of policing, commerce, programs, inflation and any other subject that comes to mind for the betterment of our great nation. I applaud the efforts of the democratic party. Now is the time to grasp the moment.

Obama

Barack Obama is no JFK, nor is Michelle a Jackie O.

that being said, he can choose his own VP

Wise VP Picks

Obama should pick Sam Nunn, Jim Webb, Mark Warner, Gov Kathleen Sibelius, or Al Gore. He should not pick Hillary because her campaign raised racial prejudice deliberately.

McCain should pick Chuck Hagel, Carly Fiorina, Colin Powell, or Fred Thompson.

He should not pick Rice because she caved into the Neocons and started an ill-advised war - her ill advice. He should not pick Romney because he is Pro-Torture and he lied every single day, thereby casting a dark aura from totally disingenuous eyes. He should not pick Lieberman because he has no charisma and is really a liberal.

Obama on Hillary - Barone's conclusion foolish

I'm sick of reading so called pundits saying that Obama signalled that he didn't want Clinton. He didn't. (How I wish he had!)

What he signalled was that he didn't appreciate blackmail/pressure and would make his decision in good time after the proper vetting procedures had been gone through.

Where he DID signal his thinking was in Indiana when he was asked directly about it by a member of the public and he referred to his being a very pragmatic kind of guy who had been impressed by Lincoln's including all his campaign enemies in his cabinet in order to achieve some sort of unity.

He said he would be looking to the person who would best help him win government and it was interesting that most of his stress in relation to the inclusion aspect was on the cabinet.

So... you can bet your bottom dollar she'll either be on the ticket or have a senior post in Cabinet.

Energy Policy: Obama vs McCain?

Could someone please educate me on details of the energy policy that Obama and McCain are offering? Are they really serious about tackling the current oil price hike as well as future oil price hikes that are soon going to hit us in face? Where do they stand in dealing with "nuclear energy" alarmists? Can these potential presidents of this great country manage real guts in coming up with a rational, coherent, commonsense, solid, realistic energy policy that is full of beefy details to tackle this rapidly exploding catastrophe hitting a common man in this country? Or are they looking to add just one more "hollow" trophy to their hollow resumes by exploting a common man's frustration at smooth-talking, self-absorbed pigmies left in the presidential race? China and India are forging ahead. Oil producing Nations are flying ahead. Guess, who is getting left behind? This Great Nation of ours! Ask of these pigmies not to outdo each other in self-aggrandising irrelevance. Demand more of them. If they can not pass the muster, go elect another person of some substance, competence, purpose, and, honest drive.

Obama will surely if no Hillary on ticket

Obama has no experience - just rhetorical oratory. There is no beef in his platform. Hillary brings a repertoire of experience, and sheer competence. Obama may feel more comfortable with a pigmy on his ticket to feel good about himself in the pigmy's company. However, it will do no good to his chances to get elected. Not only that, the Democratic Party will be a big loser in this. All the lightweight, opportunistic leaders of the Democratic Party who have banded together to hurry up Hillary's departure from the scene may have almost led to political harikiri of the party. May be, it is too late! McCain's folksy style may slay Obama's oratory without anyone even noticing it if Hillary is not on the ticket to lend some gravity to the democratic ticket.

Time

"But Obama gave her only a little time—less than 24 hours, as indicated in the lead of Calmes's story:"

She was "Ready on Day One" and "The Best Able To Answer the Phone At 3 AM" - why does she now need more than 24 hours?
