That's one CRAZY Reverend!!

When Rev. Pat Robertson said the 911 attacks were God's wrath against America for gays, feminists and the ACLU, no one batted an eye! Isn't that like saying God DAMNED America?! Does that mean if we were more like Arabic countries where women "stay in their place" 911 wouldn't have occurred? Preachers should be treated like your drunk Uncle who always says crazy things but no one in your family listens.

Rev. Wright's Military Service

I formerly served as a Navy Corpsman and I can tell you that service schools do not recognize accademic achievement with the Valdictorian or Salutatorium designations. Also, I served later as a Marine Officer and frankly I question the verasity of Rev. Wright's claims. I sure would like to see his DD 214's from both of the services and compare those to his public claims.

Pastor Disaster

I cannot get past the "Pastor Disaster " because I cannot get past Rev. Wright's rhetoric. Just like I cannot see J. Dahlmer's "good works" because he ate people. Some people cannot get past Condi Rice's "good works" because she is an Antie Tammy. (Summarization of Rev. Wright's words.)

Rev. Wright will be a millstone around Obama's neck because Obama aspires to hope. What hope does Rev. Wright offer to the African-American community? None... I'm sorry... Payback. In his speech in Philadelphia, Obama justified Rev. Wright's rhetoric because of 400 years of racism. Grandma's "bigotry" was as bad as Rev. Wright's rhetoric. Don Imus's rhetoric was worse that Rev. Wright's rhetoric. What hope does Obama give the African-American community? Payback.. and continued racism from whites.. In other words. No hope.

Obama's base will not be offended by Rev. Wright's comments and Obama's association with Rev. Wright. Rev. Wright's rhetoric is typically Progressive. Obama is a typical Progressive.

The "Pastor Disaster" is an Independent, Moderate, and Conservative phenomenon. Moderates, Independents, and some Republicans are leaving Obama. Not his base.. Progressives.

Say what?

Obama said if the preacher hadn't recently retired he would have left the church. It took him 20 years to figure out what was going on.!!! I would say that's a little slow on the uptake.

obama

Why are we just finding out about Wright and his hate speech now?? Did the Media keep this under wraps - Had voters known about the Church, etc, I doubt Obama would be in the position, he is now.

The View statement "Had he not retired, I might have left the church" is disingenious and can not possibly be true, Had he said, I got caught in the cookie jar and politically must cut Wright adrift, is more the truth. Does anyone believe his View statement???

VERY Poor Judgement

By being a member of TUCC, Barack has shown that he lacks judgement. No one in their right minds would accept the preachings from this pastor. Remember he was a member of this church for twenty years, not twenty days.....and therefore he had to know what was being preached at his church. Do I hold Barack responsible for what his preacher spewed? No, but I do hold him responsible for being a member there and for not condemning his pastor until after it became a problem for himself (Barack). Do I think he had no clue how his pastor really felt about these issues? Not a chance.....Remember he invited him to be his spiritual advisor and then disinvited him when he was first annoucing his run for presidency....You don't do something like that to your own pastor if there wasn't reason for it. He KNEW he was controversial.

This will die down for Barack in the meantime, but if he wins the democratic nomination and I think he will, it will be brought back up again and again and 527's will have commercial after commercial about it...It will hurt him in the November elections and while I never thought John McCain ever really had a chance, I am now beginning to see that as a real possibility. I truly believe the majority of American's are patriotic people and many, many that I have talked to and some who were Barack supporters in the primaries are now questioning if he is deserving of their vote. I believe in the long run there is just too much doubt about Barack's patriotism or lack of judgement with this Rev. Wright thing and many will vote the other way. I pray so.

Obama's speech

When I see some peoples high praise of Obama's speech on race, I have to wonder if English is their second language. There was absolutley nothing special about that speech. I could have done better ,heck, most people could.

What wasn't "borrowed" from others , was a sick attempt to defend Wright/Obama 's hatemongerig Idealogies.

Yes I said it!... ideals that Obama holds too

Haven't his supporters read his books???

Obama seach for his friends started in college with Marxists, anti-Americans, black millitants and anyone radically left.

He searched out , embraced and stayed loyal to Reverend Wright for 20 years. And still hasn't parted ways. Wright only "retired" last month, when the IRS started an investigation of TUCC because of his campaigning for Obama from the pulpit.

He then went to work for Obama fulltimeas head of his African American leadership commitee.

WAKE UP BEFORE ITS TOO LATE

Obama attended Reverend Wright's church for twenty years. Wright married Obama and his wife, and baptized their children. Wright was Obama's mentor and spiritual advisor.

Reverend Wright is a man who says Goddamn America. How can that be acceptable to ANY American?

If he or any other person living in America thinks the U.S. is a bully that deserved 9/11 and should be damned, I have two words for you. GET OUT. If this country sucks so bad, then why are you still here? How dare you speak poorly of your country and yet continue to take advantage of its freedoms?

There is NO POSSIBLE WAY that Obama doesn't feel the same way about America as Reverend Wright does. If he disagreed with Wright's views in any way, he would not have continued to attend the church for twenty years. There is NO POSSIBLE WAY that as Obama's mentor and spriritual advisor he was not aware of Reverend Wright's racism and hatred.

I know that many of you liberals are under a trance by Obama's public speaking abilities. But please, WAKE UP! Reverend Wright is a cancer in this country, and Obama is as well. Obama hates this country, and so does his disgusting wife. Don't be fooled by his EMPTY promises of CHANGE.

Japan and Germany were once America's enemies; today, they are our allies

A great leader is one who could reach out to even his nation's enemies and make them his country's allies. America could have continued making Japan and Germany her enemies after WW II. But America didn't, and in fact helped Japan and Germany rebuild under the Marshall Plan.

Rev. Wright must have some good points about him. He had served both in the US Marines and in the US Army. He had also received a Rockefeller Fellowship and seven honorary doctorate degrees, including from Colgate University, Valparaiso University, United Theological Seminary and Chicago Theological Seminary as well as .three presidential commendations from President Lyndon B. Johnson. And immediately after the 9/11 attacks, was one of a 100 selected VIP guests at the Whilte House, under President Clinton. So, he has some weird ideas, but he isn't running for the White House.

Senator Obama is showing good leadership by not making him an enemy, but has given Rev. Wright an understanding that Rev. Wright's hateful words should be condemned. To see Rev. Wright shying away from receiving his recent award, and canceling his pre-arranged are, very possibly, the beginning we see of Rev. Wright repenting.

We were hasty with what we've done to Iraq, based on convoluted hate by some, and what do we gain from that Iraq war? A hefty National Debt, 4000 of our young soldiers killed, and Bil Laden still alive and laughing.

There are very important issues facing America today. Please don't let those with convulated hate against Rev. Wright distract us away from the major issues, the way we were being distracted with the Iraq War instead of going after the al-Qaedas. Are we going to let the very same people who distracted us from our war against the al-Quedas in 2002/2003, distract us from the more important issues we face today. Check out how the same NeoCons and the idiotic media, in those days, cheered us to attack iraq and made us forget Bin Laden. Wise up, let them not fool us again today.

Book dedication

Did Obama really dedicate his book to Rev. Wright?

Obama is really taken by him, was that why both spent Easter weekend in the Virgin Islands, surely Obama knew the world would find that out, his ministers rooms were listed as $399 a night, a bit pricy but Obama has the cash and yet it could be charged to the church as he still has an empty chair in the pulpit for any time he wants to use it.
