Super Tuesday Postmortems

February 08, 2008 10:28 AM ET | Michael Barone | Permanent Link | Print

This has been quite the busy season for me. After analyzing the election returns for Fox News on election night until 1 a.m., I wrote this piece for the Wall Street Journal and my Creators Syndicate column, as well as a blogpost on the potentially pivotal role Puerto Rico may play in deciding the Democratic nomination for president.

Super Delegates

With the continuing close race on the Democratic side of the race its beginning to look like Puerto Rico will not only come in to play but also the Super Delegates. This apparently unique feature of the Democratic convention is baffling to me. Why would they go through this whole primary process if it all ends up falling to the select few super delegates? It appears the super delegates are using the primaries to poll the masses to determine how they might want to vote.

I am not aware if the super delegates are also in the Republican party. Can anyone tell me?

Ron Paul

2/12/08

Mr. Crabtree,

I totally disagree with your denigration of Ron Paul. Who do you support, and how familiar are you with his platform?? He knows he has no chance to be the Republican presidentia nominee, but wants the American people to wake up and realize our country badly needs to break away from the duopoly by forming a strong 3rd party.

Glad to see the chat feature

I'm glad to see that this comments feature has been added. Its also good this board is moderated. Otherwise, how long would it be before Ron Paul supporters show up and start blasting it with messages about the New World Order, the Bilderburgers, the Trilateral Commission, Council on Foreign Relations, the Illuminati, "9-11 was an inside job", and so forth. Probably five seconds.
