Britney Spears's Sister Sends Gift, Loses Privacy

Updated 09/04/08: Jamie Lynn Spears is now denying that she sent any gift to Bristol Palin, which raises more questions about why the store said that she did. The store still has not responded to requests for comment.

When I found out that Jamie Lynn Spears sent Bristol Palin $60 worth of pink burp clothes from the baby store Petit Tresor, my first reaction was, "That's such a sweet gesture from one teen mom to another!" My second was, "What gives the company the right to not only announce Jamie Lynn's purchase but also release the text of the attached note?" (For those of you who are interested, it read, "Dear Bristol, Hang in there! XXOO, Jamie Lynn Spears.")

According to ABCNews.com's report, it was a spokesperson for Petit Tresor who disclosed the gift, while Spears's camp declined to comment.

To me, that sounds like a violation of a celebrity customer's privacy, unless Spears gave the store permission to make the announcement, which there is no indication that she did. It turns out Petit Tresor has a habit of dishing out celebrity shoppers: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes went so far as to ask the store to stop using their names in their marketing materials.

Petit Tresor has not yet responded to my E-mail asking them to explain their privacy policy and whether they check with their celebrity clients before talking to media outlets about their purchases. If I were a celebrity, I'd start treating Petit Tresor with the same suspicion I reserved for the paparazzi.

What do you think—did Petit Tresor cross the line? Or are celebrities' shopping habits free game?

Celebrity Underage Teen Moms Spears & Palin

My first reaction was well quit shopping there and maybe all those Celebrity Parents and Parents to be will get the privacy they want. My second reaction was how sad and twisted is this? Two famous and infamous Teen UnWed Moms get all this attention? First off Palin and Spears are glamorizing Teen pregnancy and yeah Teen Pregnancy in the USA has continued to rise over the last decade. The problem with Palin and Spears attitude about "Teen Pregnancy" is that they will be allright and have the financial resources and family. Where your typical Teen Mom is going to be Poor or MiddleClass (pretty much the same) and the will struggle and go thru many trials and tribulations and who will suffer? The babies of unwed Teenage Mothers. So while Palin is screaming about reversing RoeVsWade and anti-aborton (even in incest and rape) children and babies will continue to suffer. Not only that but istead of Palin and many other Republicans doing their part in preventing Teen Sex and Teen Pregnancy they bark up the wrong tree and don't insist that Sex Education/STD Prevention be a part of curriculum in HighSchool and Junior High. So what happens? It bites them in the hinny and Palin has a 17 year old daughter who is preggo and that's okay right? Sure. And this is the VP family they want to put in the White House right? WTF kind of message do you think that will send? People wake up.

I'm sure Jamie crys all the way to the bank

She probably laughs at us when we make a big deal out of stuff. She didn't have to get involved. She probably knew they would blab and get her some stuff stirred up. Even though she didn't tell them it was allright, she probably knew the world would find out. She could of went to somewhere private and bought it and sent it but yet she goes to a place with a reputation for blabbing. Uh hah, she knew what she was doinig and probably laughs at us for even caring.

What an American Joke!

Teenage preganacy is still not acceptable no matter what party of choice. PATHETIC!!! America is a big joke, no morals, values and ready to accept what the mass, low-lifers do. Great Big Brother example.

Tells you alot about the Parties followers.
