Opium War and Eight Nations Invasion Of China
Quote M. Zuckerman,"They saw the Olympic spectacle as an opportunity to demonstrate that China has regained its national stature and power after the legacy of what it experienced as 'a hundred years of national humiliation' at the hands of foreigners. Humiliated. Chinese schoolchildren have long been indoctrinated to believe that until the Communist victory in 1949 their country was the "sick man of Asia." They learned never to forget the 1919 Treaty of Versailles, which gave to Japan Germany's special concessions and extraterritorial status in China. Incidents such as the clash of Chinese and American military aircraft, the Tibetan uprising, the Olympic torch relay, and even the Sichuan earthquake have all featured in a national narrative of a resurgent China defending itself against a hostile world. The humiliation of a hundred years has given way to an ideology of nationalism that nurtures popular resentment of Japan and America. For us the past may be past as we focus on China's awesome capacity to achieve. Not so for the Chinese. For them, the Olympics have been the crowning moment when they could see themselves at last as victor, not as victims. As the former mayor of Beijing put it last year, "We have to have a good Olympics; otherwise, not only will our generation lose face but also our ancestors."
M. Zuckerman may have forgotten the Opium War and the Eight Nations Invention of China ("Boxer Rebellion"). Those wars also humiliation of the Chinese people by foreign counties such as Britain and the United States. The Opium War was nothing more than the Britain government as illegal drug dealers invading China when the Chinese government trying to stop their people from taking Opium. The Eight Nation Invasion of China was led by the American to steal and rob the Chinese Imperial Palace of all its treasure. Both invasions were unforgivable crimes committed by the United States and British as robbers, murderers and drug dealers. Both U. S. and Britain must now be punished harshly and come to their final end.

What Could London Do to Match Beijing Olympic Great Openning and Closing Scenes?
What Could London Do to Match Beijing Olympic Great Openning and Closing Scenes?
The answer is extremely simple and smart, the United Kindom will join the People Republic of China. In other words, Britain will become part of China, and China will then host the 2012 London Olympic. For the Beijing Olympic, the Chinese will have 151 medals, with 100 from Mainland, 4 bronze medals from Chinese Taipei and 47 from Britain. They will have exactly 70 gold medals from the Beijing Olympic. The British minority groups of China will obviously enjoy the same 151 medals. The British will be proud? Since Ireland only have 2 bronze medals, I would recommend Southern Ireland to join the United Kingdom. When United Kingdom join China, then the Irish will add 2 more bronzes making their Beijing Olympic medal tally 153.
I will assure that when their unification is complete, the London Olympic host by China will be the most spectacular sights human beings have ever seen. By then, a united China will be able to win 200 medals for the Chinese, Taiwanese Chinese, English, Scots, Welsh, and Irish to enjoy.

Some Comments
Many of the western reporters tend to suspect, at least by their wording, the motives of what Chinese government are doing. For example: you said that Deng Xiaoping decided to adapt a maketing approach was "for the continuation of the Communist party's ruling"; could it be instead "for the good of the country"? You also said that the Chinese children were "indoctrinated" to believe China was a sick man before. It is a fact that China was once, when she was weak, divided like a piece of pie for the consumption of the powerful countries, such as Japan, Germany, French, England, Potugal, etc.. When you use the word "Indoctrinated", it has an evil intention.
How long is the American history? 200years?
China has 5000years history and Tibet, Taiwan, Mongolia and Xinjiang has always been part of China, and it won't change, think clearly before u speak! Do you even know some japanese and korean is almost same sound as chinese, why? China is to powerful back than. Maybe China is not that powerful now, but we believe it will be powerful, don't always believe BBC, CNN, research more, please!
To John
Tibet, Taiwan, Mongolia and Xinjiang have been part of China for hundreds of years, though not thousands. If that's not long enough, then how long has the Kingdom of Hawaii been annexed by the US? How long have the Europeans occupied North America?
CHina NOT being expansionist
" If you look at China historically, Tibet has never been a part of China for four thousand years (as they claim) neither has the South China Sea, Taiwan (Formosa) Mongolia, (and Inner Mongolia) and Xianjiang (Uighar country) mostly people of (until the more recent Han immigrant invasion) Turkish and Muslim descent. "
Basically I agree with you comment. But please notice this fact. The history of Tibet, Mongolia, Taiwan and Xinjiang belong to CHINA is more longer than the history of America! These four part was totally under control in the latest Dynasty of CHINA. The Great Qing Dynasty. Just because of the west country's invasion, makes the problem nowadays happen.
