Israel's Historic Achievement

The Arab armies helped stop the 1948 cleansing

With all the anger about Holocaust denial surprised it should still be socially acceptable to deny the Palestine cleansing. Then to blame the Arab "invading armies" for preventing even more cleansing. Had the Zionists cleansed the rest of Jeruselum and the rest of Palestine then presumably we wouldn't have these problems today. Since the 1948 Zionists didn't "finish the job."

What a disgrace

Mort, if it is always been your "home" why don't you go back and spare us the regular drivel?

Israel's Historic Achievement

Thank you for this succinct editorial. The evidence is clear, and increasingly more historical data proves the legitimacy of Israel's ancient roots and unending rights to her land.If only the rest of the world would look into the astounding prophecies given throughout Hebrew Scriptures, and in some Christian Scriptures, concerning that which has happened, is happening, and will happen to this special people - and what will happen to those who deny or curse her.

Israel, for all she has suffered, would have been a mere past entity had it not been for the divine hand upon her. Why do the heathen rage, and the nations imagine their empty schemes against her? The Holy One laughs, but when His anger is stirred,

... then they will know His supreme love for Israel.(Psalm 2)

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. We say that and pray that with desire for "the apple of His eye" to at last have the secured promise of her inheritance. Then the world will know peace. It shall be, none can prevent it, all should desire it.

Isreal's Birthday

GOD BLESS ISREAL.I PRAY ALL THE JEWISH PEOPLE WILL RETURN BACK TO THERE HOMELAND THAT WANT'S TO GO.MY DREAM IS THAT THE JEWISH PEOPLE WILL HAVE THOUSAND'S TIMES TEN THOUSANDS OF BLESSED STRONG FEARLESS BUT GOD FEARING CHILDREN THAT WILL SEE THERE BORDERS EXPAND AND LIVE IN PEACE WITH IT'S NEIGHBORS FOREVER.

learn English grammar if you wish to participate. And try not to show your intellectual shallowness, bias, immaturity and confusion by lumping Native Americans (Indians) with African Americans and Latin Americans, and then sticking on the Palestinians at the end like a tail, as if they were a legitimate group. Even the Arabs in the Middle East, off camera and off the record, will tell you that the Palestinians are not a people, but a mixture of unwanted Arabs from many countries. The Arab nations won't even take them! And if "we", as you say without identifying who "we" refers to, listen carefully, we will hear the Palestinians refusing any deal except all the land for them and Israel's liquidation. Are Afro-Americans U.S. haters who want the land for themselves? No. Not even the Indians, to whom much of the land rightfully SHOULD belong, ask for that! The Latinos are not trying to destroy the U.S. and take over the land for themselves, nor do they send Katusha rockets into Washington DC, Miami or Houston. But the so-called "Palestinians" are guilty. Are you really this ignorant? Do you not know what Arafat said on Arabic radio and TV, in Arabic, after he signed the peace accords? "We gave them the peace of Mohammed". He never said it in English to the Western press, but in Arabic he did! It means, we made a temporary peace with our enemies in order to later destroy them. So, welcome to reality.

Israel's Achievement

I thank you for your lucid picture of the historic dilemmas of the Jewish people. I think Americans need more education concerning this topic. There is no other group of people with this kind of on-going persecution.

U.S. Support of Israel

Israel is in a tenuous state. If it were not for U.S. financial, political and military support. the country would dissolve. This kind of support will probably not be sustainable indefinitely. At some point Israel will have to make friends with its Arab neighbors if it wishes to survive. Otherwise, there will probably be another Diaspora.

There was never any allied forces to save Native, African, and Chicano people from U.S. atrocities and human rigths violations. Restitution? Economic aid to the tune of billions of dollars? None! Are Native Americans, African Americans, and Chicanos the 4th or 5th most powerful military might in the world? No...but there is Israel. Jews were integral in the development of the greco-romano-western culture...they benefited from it...and suffered with it. Are there any African, Native American, Chicano, or Palestinian former or present prime ministers, Royal or U.S. advisors? Zip. Many of read about Ann Frank, Elli Wiesel, and the holocast...our hearts were deeply touched. But now we hear the voices of the Palestinians louder than the dying cries of the holocaust victims. Never again?

Response to Honigman

You wrote this:

<<The occupied territories Amr Musa mostly speaks of are disputed lands. They are not purely "Arab." Jews had as many, or more rights to be on those lands as Arabs had. Much has been written about this, including UN Resolution 242, and leading experts such as Eugene Rostow, William O'Brien, Arthur Goldberg, Lord Caradon, and others have been quite vocal on these matters as well.>>

This is the problrm of Zionism: EVERYTHING has to be based on race and ethnicity. In other words, Zionism, by definition, is racism. Imagine if an American was discussing a guy losing his home and instead of discussing why THIS INDIVIDUAL has any claims to a house he calls his by examining the deeds or his family records, the claim is dismissed by arguing that "white people had many or as much rights to those lands". This argument only makes sense to a Zionist because a Zionist is brought up to assume racism as normal. The issue is NOT the race of those expelled, but their identity as INDIVIDUALS. If a Jew can prove that a house belonged to him and he lost it, why, just about EVERYONE would support his right to reclaim THAT LAND he can identify. If 1,000 Arabs can identify the town they were born in and want to return there, those rights are not grounded on their ethnicity as Arabs, and cannot be extinguished by the ethnicity of the person who took them, either. NOTHING about Israel stands up to any logic, but it must rely on stupid obfuscation, lies, and finally, just plain violence, to sustain itself. America shouldn't be dragged through this moral abyss.

<<Nevertheless, the reason that the U.S. supports Israel is because Israel is the only democracy in the middle east and provides strategic assistance to the U.S. in terms of intelligence, military support, and geography.>>

Bullshit. Isreal is NOT a democracy. It is a theocracy or a state formed on the concept of the pepetual worthiness of one ethnic group over another. This is certainly NOT democracy by any stretch of the imagination. If Israel wants democracy, all they have to do is allow open elections for everyone in ALL the lands that Israel currently occuppies That includes the West Bank and Gaza Strip, which is under 24/7 Israeli military occuppation. Then, Israel would abolish the "Law Of Return" and allow the Palestinians who can trace their homes to Israel proper the right to return to their towns. Then, have a REAL election of one man, one vote like we do here in America. Outside that, we just have LIARS like Zuckerman spewing his hgarbage on the American airwaves.
