Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and Sean Hannity Add Up to a Failing Republican Party

Rofl.. Whistle in the dark Obama whores
It looks to me like the ones failing in the polls are Odumba, Pelosi, and Reid
Conservatives
As long as the Republican party continues to demonize everyone who is not on the far right, spreads scare tactics and outright lies, concentrates on issues like abortion, socialism, gun rights, and fear of their own government, they will never be the Grand Old Party they once were. As an ex-republican I find the tactics of the right wing disgusting and repulsive. It has become painfully obvious that they are not the least bit concerned with the needs of the middle class. Most of the Republicans I have talked to refuse to even acknowledge that America has any problems that need to be addressed, and are only interested in seeing maintaining the status quo, even though many of their policies have been proven to be failures.
No government?
This whole, "We're Americans, we believe in liberty, we believe in small governmet" attitude promoted by unintelligent conservatives is really sad.
Small government is viable only when your bridges are new, streets are new, people don't argue, and guns are used strictly for hunting.
But thats not my world.
I live in a world where bridges fall down, potholes are huge and damage my car, people like to argue and guns are used to kill humans not animals.
Government is how we maintain a civil society. Government is responsible for creating a world where idiots like Rush can argue and criticize the president without retribution.
Government is good. Wasteful government is bad. Wasteful business is also bad. That the Republican leaders have convinced American conservatives that business leaders will "police themselves" is acknowledgement of their marketing skills. I commend them for that.

What is my Point?
I have to agree with Todd! As conservatives, we need to have better leaders. The Republican party will continue to be out of favor if Rush and Ann continue to be "hailed" as conservative leaders. The conservative movement will not gain favor with our current radicals at the front. Ronald Reagan is our role model for consistently maintaining conservative values without the constant attacks on EVERYTHING done by democrats. All democrats are NOT liberals!
Warren Buffett is a democrat and one (with any reasonable intelligence) can make a valid arguement that he is the role model for corporate leadership. $100K per year, no corporate jets, no bonuses and 19 people at corporate headquarters. Again, he is a democrat!
I agree that we should not have bigger government(a basic conservative fundamental), we need a better functioning government who can maintain proper oversight of big business and the sense of entitlement and greed by many of our corporate leaders.
As a conservative, my platform is not based on a consistent attack on democrats. That is exactly what our "spokespeople" have, on a consistent basis, made the general conservative platform! Are we too the "cool aid" drinkers as the "conservative leaders" call the liberals. Lets have the humility to recognize this error of following such people and speak our true platform rather than be in constant attack mode.
Our conservative platform has been clouded by our inability to recognize our errors. Ann, Rush and the rest of the constant attackers are not my spokespeople!

Right criticism
What's your point?
More people should listen to Rush and Coulter
Rush and Ann are entertainers. They're out to promote themselves as much as their views and God bless them for doing so. The author of this article frames things in terms that vilify core conservative values and it betrays both his bias and his laziness. Truth is, a majority of what Rush, Ann and Glenn Beck say is in line with what a majority of Americans want. Americans want less government interference. Americans want more opportunity. Americans want fair play. This isn't a conservative thing or a liberal thing, but ask anyone who wants to better themselves in this country and one of the main tings they complain about is bureaucratic nonsense. We have historically been a nation of people who just like to be left alone. When government steps in and mandates how much we can eat, where we can shop, what to say, whether or not we can own firearms, who we can associate with all while they raise our taxes, this pisses us off. All we want government to do is to keep us safe from sinster forces outside as well as exploiters from within. And yeah, America is a conservative country too and will become even more conservative as we absorb more immigrants from India and Latin America. (They barely even hold hands in Bollywood cinema).
Obama is a real likeable guy and I think more people voted for him than for his values. When taxes go up, the Obama high will wear off quickly. At their very worst, Rush and Ann say things in a shocking and controversial way, but mostly they are on target in their legitimate criticism of Obama's plans. How many hollywood entertainers and rock stars have said vile disgusting things about President Bush? Nearly all of them. In many ways, an Angelina Jolie or a Sean Penn has far more reach than Rush Limbaugh yet they frequently spew political nonsense without any hint of reprimand.
I don't agree with everything Rush says, but his voice is an essential one in our democratic process. More people should listen to him.
Thank you!
This article was on the mark. As an person who has served in the military for over 20 years. I have conservative values but refuse to call Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter and Sean Hannity "leaders." These "conservative" folks consistently attack anything democrats say and tout themselves as conservative voices. They talk about the democrats who are Obama "kool aid" drinkers, when many republicans will fall inline with them on attacks that are frequently incorrect. The people who are on "conservative" talk radio and write books do, unfortunately, lead many thousands of people. They lead with words and thoughts, but where are they leading? I am a conservative Christian and saw Rush Limbugh's recent speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). He told a "joke" about how God thought he liked to think He was Rush Limbaugh. Many in the crowd cheered. It is absolutely sickening to include God in a joke. As a conservative Christian, I find this especially appauling. Ann Coulter's consistent bashing and dismissing of ANYTHING said by democrats does not demonstrate wisdom. These self appointed conservative "leaders' have a self serving agenda and to prove this, they will NOT stop or yield to anyone who opposes THEIR agenda. They will not yield and say they wouldn't be conservative if they did yield. I do not share Rush Limbaugh's hopes that President Obama fails. I have stood watch as and enlisted person for six years and served leading our young men and women as an officer for 15 years to defend our country against those who hope our country fails and consistently divide us for self serving purposes. I am a conservative and Rush, Sean and Ann are NOT my leaders! I hope President Obama succeeds in making our nation stronger and bringing all of us closer together....that is the message we need to embrace. Now you watch the replies to this comments from all of the so called conservatives (the ones who listen intently to talk radio and read the hate books by Ann Coulter) and see the divisiveness that has become of the "conservatives." I know this is a bit cliche, but folks, lets stand together, because divided, we WILL fall. The central message from these talking heads and so called conservative "leaders" is about pointing the finger and keeping people at odds...THAT IS HOW THEY MAKE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. Take a step back and truly think about this for more than just a few minutes and come to your own conclusion. When you do that, then ask what do YOU believe and what do YOU stand for.
I don't even know where to start...
I'll just start and end with this: You idiot - you think republicans should listen to MIKE MURPHY! --"Mike Murphy, a sensible GOP consultant in the past to the presidential bids of Lamar Alexander and John McCain." LAMAR ALEXANDER and JOHN MCCAIN??!?!?! Arguably the LAMEST candidates the republicans have ever put up -- they are not CONSERVATIVES - only a true conservative will bring back this party
