right wing hypocrisy

Abortion, the subject that so often heatedly divides us, Republican's and Democrats.

My questions:

1 An unborn fetus as a "real human being"? Does that mean that a parent loves that "child" equally with older brothers or sisters? The same pain suffered at the loss of a child with a misscariage or still born birth? When does parental love for that human person begin?

2 Regarding the anti-abortion position, I'd like them to explain why funeral services aren't provided and paid for when losing a fetus due to natural cause.

Re: Adam and R.L.

O.K., R.L., we get that you are all about anti-abortion. Somehow you always hark back to that, no matter what the subject is supposed to be. Every week, over and over, again and again. There's no doubt you are dedicated to that cause, deeply sincere and very single-minded about it. It appears that that is all you are about.

The Constitution, Adam? Obviously you are referring to the constitution according to Bushy/Cheney/Rumsfeld/et.al No, O'Bama won't be upholding that distorted version; not likely, especially if the majority of Americans get their way. The skewed version used the past 8 years took away so many American rights. We're expecting clear restoration of our liberties and the balance of power among the branches of government now. That is the change we voted for. The American people won't stand for anything else. We're 'on to' the agenda of the last regime and are watching carefully. They got our attention. We are far from ignorant.

Response to Clos from CA.

You're ignorant. Barack Hussein Obama stands for everything the Constitution does not.

Clos of Ca

Obama will appoint to "uphold" the Constitution - you're kidding, right?

Obama will appoint "only" a pro-abortion judge. Anyone with a shred of common sense understands that Roe was decided on the basis of personal whim and liberal ideology - not on precedent or original intent of the Constitution. To deny this is to deny truth and obvious facts.

Absolute Morality can only be revealed, rejected or forgotten - never changed. Unless you get your mind around that, and abandon obstinate relativism and progressive subjectivity - nothing can have any true meaning.... Justice and the law included.

Response to rick of GA et al

Those who agree with President Obama will uphold the Constitution. The President is a constitutional lawyer. He taught Constitutional law.

Why is it, rick, that you assume-just days into his presidency- that Obama will not choose a nominee who will uphold the constitution? You have nothing to base that opinion on, unless it is Bush's behavior of the last 8 years you are using as an example.

Sociopaths have no regard for the rule of law, unless they can manipulate it for their own purposes. Their honest opinion is that rules are for 'suckers'. Their stance is one of defiance. Their quest is to undermine the order of society and sabotage the systems that support it. They'd just as soon have anarchy; better yet, tyranny, so long as they're the tyrant.

Little Bush's actions document his contempt for our Constitution and most all laws; witness his regular attempts to circumvent them. The current freefall of our systems did not happen all by itself - it had plenty of help. Take your blinders off.

The GOP is in big trouble if blaming Obama for everything - (after a week? c'mon!-) is all they got. It does not make them look credible. It just makes the GOP more irrelevant. The Gop's attitude of destructiveness will only bury it further. If it doesn't join with the Dems to do some constructive things for this country and re-establish the rule of law, then they're useless. Continuation of this oppositional mind set will spell the end. Americans want and know we must have unity to overcome the very serious problems Bush and his allies left us with. Rove's devisive tactics put the GOP in power, but wounded our country greatly. The majority of Americans want no more of it. So, if that's all ya got, then good bye and good riddance.

Right on - Rick of GA.

Mashek, hack of the left, is a Catholic apostate and so believes in ever changing and subjective truths and morality. It follows then that he prefers judges who will follow their own personal values and legislate from the bench according to the whims of their like minded appointer.

This,of course, makes a mockery of any "rule of law".

Supreme Court

There should not ba a litmus for the Supreme Court. When you say that Obama will nominate those who agree with him. Why is it that we can't nominate those who uphold the constitution?

W's Defenders

The sooner we can forget Bush, the better

off for the nation. What damage he wrought

The Republicans have violated all their traditional values and have done huge disservice to the U.S.: ruined the economy, foreign relations & the judicial system, bankrupted the country, and trashed the Constitution, to mention just a few of their accomplishments. There's nothing they can do but try to rewrite history, deny the truth and continue to feed the blind their daily doses of 'feel good' rhetoric. They have absolutely nothing of merit left to stand on. So, those conservative political writers will continue to try to convince as many as they can that little Bush did some good. And, they will trash Obama continuously and obstruct his efforts to repair what Dubya did because that's all they've got.

The devisive, scorched earth, dirty tricks tactics of Rove have worked well to get Republicans elected and disempower Democrats. So, expect more of the same. That's all they've got. They are morally bankrupt, riddled with corruption and have not one good idea. Smear the opposition and deny the reality and results of their own deeds-that's all they've got.

George Bush

I never have been as proud to be an american or any prouder of our Nation and its people as I was the day of 9/11 when because of our, President George Bush, we had no fear just fury, and became as one (World). If it had not been for the leadership of our President this country would have been on our knees. Instead we kicked ass. I respect, and admire George Bush and never had a doubt that he put the American peoples safety first. I grew up as a child in this country listening to our jets breaking the sound bearer and crawling under my desk at school dureing an air-rade practice, never knowing when the siren went off if it was the real thing, for years... Dureing Pres. Reagan, and Pres. Bushs terms I never felt anything but security and pride. Now Obama. GOD HELP US
