Blame for Bush/Republicans
It is amazing that all the blame goes on President Bush's shoulders. But if you think about it, our armed forces were seriously stripped by our Democratic President, Clinton. Bush built them back up and is ridiculed for it. Clinton also setup the beginning of our jobs being outsourced to other countries, as I am one that was outsourced from a fortune 100 company back in the 90's, another inheritance for George Bush. I believe also Clinton began deregulating and promoting easy lending, and the results of his efforts gave President Bush another monster to take responsibility for....but how great it was back in the 90's -- the great false economy.

You are right. The level of cynicism that McCain displays is truly astounding. He seems to think the American people are utter fools. Sadly, I have a feeling that they will elect him. Just look at what he is doing --copying the Obama platform in the 11th hour --just plain stealing their ideas, and key words. He chooses Palin and her troubles with a pregnant teen daughter, a new baby with a disability, her radical religious views and her loudmouth attitude and blatant lies about her achievements are no problem at all.
McCain was a total coward. He became a military man. Had he dared, he would have studied literature--as he admitted himself. He is an unbalanced person. When he was being held in captivity by the Vietnamese, he admits that he deliberately provoked his captors. As a result, they lost face, became infuriated and tortured him until he broke. Is this sort of foolish bravado an appropriate characteristic for the president of the U.S.?
McCain never tires of repeating that Obama will raise taxes. However, Obama will spend on social programs to help people. Such spending will lead to economic gains. McCain will keep the country embroiled in wars! These wars will have huge costs and naturally, all you need to do is look at what the costs were under Bush to totally grasp the impact that McCain will have on the country.
But sadly, I think that McCain may be right. He could be elected and then the same policies will be visited on the U.S..
Response to Bernadine of IL
Huh?????? Bernadine we aren't electing a biblical character here, we are electing someone who we need to be certain can step in to the shoes of the leader of the free world! Your reference to women in the Bible speaks volumes about how Ms. Palin is being sold to the electorate! It's alarming that promoting her as a Christian woman who looks to her spiritual leaders for guidance in governing is being touted as a good thing. Did we forget about the separation of church and state here? This woman is no more qualified to be the Vice-President or God forbid the President than anyone else with so little political leadership experience and it is clear the Republicans putting her on the ticket is nothing more than a cheap political ploy!
Heaven help us!
I agree with Mr. Mashek - selecting Sarah Palin is a cheap politic ploy and I pray the American electorate can see it for what it is. Heaven help us if the Republicans win this election and something happens to John McCain! Do we really want a President who thinks it is ok to ban books, exploits her family for political gain and is a fundamentalist? If women think Ms. Palin will be taking up their cause they need to take a long hard look at her religious beliefs and her approach at governing.
WHITE WOMAN IN THE WHITE HOUSE AS V P
WOMEN HAVE DONE WONDERS IN THE BIBLE READ FOR YOUR SELF
ESTER QUEEN DEBRA JUDGE AND MARY BROUGHT THE SAVIOUR INTO OUR WORLD.
c'mon...not again!
This election will speak volumes about our ability to learn from our mistakes...my guess?, we wont. We're Americans, by-god, and that means sticking to the same horrid plan until we drive it through the hearts and minds of the public...until we've brainwashed every single person to believe the promises they havent kept since...well, since ever.
We wont fix anything(except maybe the election), we wont feed the hungry, we wont stop spending money on flashing lights and fireworks... We're superficial, and it's time we came to the realization that we're shallow, the most shallow of all. We want the happy ending, as long as it's wrapped up in a thirty minute sit-com.
politicians shouldn't run for office, people should run for office. the less experience, the better. We're so used to seeing crooked government, that we actually beileve when we vote, we're voting for different canidates...they aren't different, they're the same. The same, the same as the last, as the one before, and the one before that other crooked one.
Dems vs. Reps... it's like watching WWE wrestling... it's fake, it's smoke and mirrors...and the outcome is rigged from the beginning... just take a look at the last 2 final results of voting...even when you win, you lose.
Obama
i dont belive we can trust Obama one bit he has people buffaloed this is the USA what has he ever done but talk the talk
