What a bunch of Hot air

I had the privilege of knowing a Retired Army General and former Lobbyist. He told me the REAL story on how Congress works.

He would go to breakfast with a Democratic and tell him how smart he was and how important his new bill would be and how off base the Republicans were. He would than acknowledge that the firm he represented understood how busy the congressman and his staff was and he would offer to provide additional staff to get the bill written and ready to present to Congress.

Then he would go to dinner with a Republican and tell him how smart he was and how important his new bill would be and how off base the Democrats were. He would than acknowledge that the firm he represented understood how busy the congressman and his staff was and he would offer to provide additional staff to get the bill written and ready to present to Congress.

This allowed him to cover both bases and to make sure that the company's interests were taken care of no matter which bill got passed.

And they wonder why America doesn't trust them....

All they want is more power and financial benefits, whatever happen to SERVING your country?
