Is Palin Quitting Because She's Hiding Something?

Why else would the Alaska governor step down so unexpectedly?

Posted July 7, 2009

Responding to criticism of her unexpected announcement that she will resign as Alaska's governor, Sarah Palin wrote on her Facebook page over the weekend: "The response in the main stream media has been most predictable, ironic, and as always, detached from the lives of ordinary Americans who are sick of the 'politics of personal destruction'. How sad that Washington and the media will never understand; it's about country. And though it's honorable for countless others to leave their positions for a higher calling and without finishing a term, of course we know by now, for some reason a different standard applies for the decisions I make." Why did Palin step down? Is she hiding something? Is she right about the mainstream media? Post your thoughts.

Lame Duck with Lipstick

Sarah could pose with a crumpled American flag as a prop and her supporters would still see her as Mother Theresa. Oh, Mother Theresa didn't quit.

Sarah Palin

It has become painfully clear that Ms. Palin is to some extent intellectually deficient--just look at the rambling speech she gave, and the way she writes--but also somewhat emotionally unbalanced. These things would not necessarily be enough to keep her out of public life, were she able to accept direction, mentoring and advice from people who have had successful political careers. Sadly, however, she has a naracissistic streak that causes her to believe that she's always right, and to constantly posture herself as a victim.

As somebody else put it, a candidate who is simultaneously that intellectually impaired and that ambitious is like a golf cart driven by a rocket. It breaks the sound barriar, but you can't guide it.

The ultimate judgment of history will be on John McCain. By making such a choice, he placed the republic is great danger. It's also a judgment on the Repuclican party, that McCain wasn't free to pick somebody else, because they had to cater to rightwing Christians.

Finally, Sarah Palin's journey is a cautionary tale about the treacherous nature of beauty, not just to the world but to the person who possesses it. Hers gave her tremendous momentum at first, but it concealed something frightening, because there is nothing quite as dangerous as the narcissist. Such people hurt others, but they also hurt themselves, because once people understand the narcissism they end up being objects of ridicule. And they don't have enough insight into what's driving them to keep quiet.

I wish her the best, but I'm so glad she didn't get power. America dodged a bullet.

Its fascinating watching all of you posture and speculate

and the more of an attack your comments are, the more of a threat I realize that she is to your liberal way of life. With that, I say ELECT PALIN 2012!!!!!!!

DUMP PELOSI, BARNEY FRANK and HILLARY!!!

Elect a real woman, one that America isn't ashamed to have stand up and shake her hiney and sing God Bless America!!!!!
