Job Security Trumps Pay in What Americans Want From Their Jobs

A recent survey asked Americans what's in a good job. Here's what they said:

  • 63: Percentage who ranked "job security" as a main concern
  • 60: Percentage who ranked "benefits" as a main concern
  • 57: Percentage who ranked "pay" as a main concern
  • 55: Percentage who ranked "opportunity to use abilities" as a main concern
  • 50: Percentage who ranked "the work itself" as a main concern
  • 45: Percentage who ranked "meaningfulness of job" as a main concern
