Is the Palin Crew's Fight with David Letterman a Publicity Stunt?

it does affect all of us

And the worst part is that Letterman is lying through his teeth. He apologized for one joke, as if that's all he did. In fact he milked that same joke for two nights. If, as he admitted, he was told the "next day" that 14 year old Willow was with her mom in NYC, why then did he accuse her for the second time, implying that Eliot Spitzer couldn't stay away from her, eg, that she was a whore. Where is the apology for the Spitzer joke?

Letterman was over the line, but who gives a sh..

Letterman is a comedian... but his jokes about Palin and her family were a bit over the line.

Palin had the right to call out Letterman on his poor taste. But after saying so, Palin should act with the dignity and grace befitting her station. She should not engage in a running tit for tat with Letterman--she can only lose.

Letterman is a liar and a fool.

Sarah Palin was in New York raising awareness and funds in the battle against autism. Sure, take shots at her. The "slutty airline stewardess" comments were high school sophomoric and she handled these personal comments gracefully.

Her 14 year old daughter is at the game and Dave's excuse is that he meant the Alex Rodriguez sexual assault comments to be directed toward 18 year old Bristol not 14 year old Willow...... Give me a break!! What a leachorus pervert.

Matt Lauer's apologist tone was equally disgusting. Sarah Palin was principled and graceful. Matt looked like a buffone trying for a "gotcha" moment.

palin-letterman

if that so called joke had been made about obama's daughter he would have been fired or worse!!!!!

Dan Dan Dan................

Letterman/Palin

"Why does EVERYTHING in this country now about left vs. right, liberal vs. conservative, blah blah blah. Letterman made a joke. Maybe it was a little off color. In the big picture, who really cares? This does not affect my life one way or another, and as far as that goes, it does not affect anyones life who is posting on this site. Can we please get over the name calling and worry about our own lives please??"

Dan of WI

If it's so unimportant to your life why did you comment? This is not about left or right, it's about right or wrong. I for one say "Fire Letterman"

Letterman/Palin

Of course what he said was in bad taste. But let's keep in mind, it was a joke.

A joke, by the way, that I'm sure MILLIONS of Americans never even would have known about had Palin not used it to get herself, once again, in the spotlight.

What he said was wrong. Her getting publicity at her family's expense, even worse.

Letterman/Palin

Lettermans commont is in poor taste. He "attacked" a child for ratings. It's one thing to make a comment preferable aout an adult, especially one present who can respond immediately and not one who hears it(the comment) days or weeks lter.

Usually, I like his monlogue and I think that he as good as Johnny carson then he puts his foot in his mouth. [ All the great comedians.. Caesar, Skelton, Gleason, Burns & Allen etc. never resorted to character assination for laughs]

palin

Letterman was wrong. However...

I just saw Sarah Palin's interview with Matt Lauer. Her natural sleeziness overshadows anything Dave Letterman could imagine.

The way she callously uses her kids as pawns in her uncontrollable desire for attention is pathetic and dangerous.

I earlier wrote a post mostly critical of Letterman. That was misguided on my part.

Letterman was wrong. Palin is disgusting and possibly insane.

letterman /Palin

It is apparent that Dan from Wisconsin is a man!! As a woman, comments or jokes directed at young woman in such a direspectful way,do affect my life and my daughters lives. If men and women don't speak out about this type of behavior how will our younger generation know what is acceptable? I don't believe there should be name calling on any level.

letterman not the betterman

What's the big surprise?! He's just mouthing off like he always does, at the expense of women--check out anytime he has a "hot babe" on--he makes vulgar, letcherous comments and oogles her--he has turned into a disgusting chauvie pig over the past couple yrs., and there are a lot of viewers who don't even bother to watch him anymore.

I wonder how his "finally wife" feels, esp. since she's had to raise his (technically) "bastard" kid for 5 years +. Who is he

to make comments about a mother out of wedlock?! His skirt-chasing BS is so passe', but like all old jerks, he doesn't get it.

oh,unless it's Sarah P., of course. Then it's his job right along w/ all TV's extreme lefties (i.e.,Fey, Courack, Bayheart)to demean her. It is so obvious that she's a political threat.

Can you even imagine what a blow-up there'd be if he (or ANYONE on the planet) dared to make a similar comment about Obama's girls?!

We're so sick of the media bias against conservatives--letterman

and the rest of them act like school brats and apparently have even less political/social mentality than a 3rd grade bully.
