"U.S. Adults"

What Limbaugh's 13% amounts to is 13% of voters have seen numerous reports on CNN showing Rush's interviews and quickly lump all Republicans into the right-extremist category. I would even venture to guess that these numbers have a strange correlation to the amount of air-time each person had gotten shortly prior to the poll. Herein lies the problem: As a hard line Republican I have had to learn to find some middle ground as many of my views have become somewhat archaic (I'm only 21). Finding myself drifting to what I can only describe as "more center," I have come to realize that there is not a single person in the party that I feel can accurately speak for the majority of the party or me anymore. Inevitably this will become a weakness the liberals will use against "us." However, I do offer this little bit of analysis that you can only get here: When you think about what I have just claimed, take a look at the percentages listed above. Did you notice they do not add up to 100%? Did you notice how low the leader's percentage is or did you read the list and simply laugh? Only 38% of the voters are represented in this list. If this simple fact does not set off a little alarm in your head then you probably failed high school statistics. To me, this means that this list is completely useless and that the Repulican Party as a whole needs some unification.

By Tom Davis

Seven lessons the parties need to learn from Tuesday's races.

The 2009 off-year elections in Virginia, New Jersey, and New York's 23d Congressional District offer a small snapshot of the current views and motivations of the American electorate. While there may be a desire to extrapolate the events of Nov. 3, 2009 into a prediction of what will happen on Nov. 2, 2010, that is impossible.
