Dangerous???!!!11
i believe that it is dangerous to talk/text on a cellphones while drivng. 25% shows that over the years talking on the cell phones has increase in car accidents...some are deadly. I research that 23.2% OF DRIVERS THAT IS TEXTING/DRIVNG IS MORE LIKELY TO GET AND A CRASH THEN A PERSON THAT IS NOT ON A CELL PHONE. IF you really think about this reseach proves it self. In my opinion it's to dangerous and i think that people should lay off on talkin/texting on a phone while there drivng it will cost 1 less life to loss?????

This is silly
Driving while distracted, regardless of the distraction, can be very dangerous. Whether it's a cell phone, kids in the back seat, or changing the radio station, drivers need to remember that their primary focus needs to be on driving. I don't think that hands free devices are necessarily safer than a regular cell phone. Since I rarely, if ever, use my ear-piece to talk on my cell phone, it's much more distracting (for me) to use the ear-piece while driving, as I'm unfamiliar with it.
I also think that there's a difference between talking on a phone or texting while waiting at a red light and while actually moving.
As for whether it should be a law, it already is in a lot of states. However, I think that by creating all these laws and expecting enforcement, all we're really doing is lining the coffers of the state, county or township police, since in many areas the primary focus isn't on safety, but on revenue streams
The Police Need to Enforce Laws
and all states should have them. Just like seatbelt laws, this should be required. How many times have you seen swaying drivers with one hand on the wheel, the head cocked sidewayss to talk on the cellphone, the parent turning to the rear seat to correct a child, a coffe cup balanced on the steering wheel, and all while travelling 65 mph.
Hands-free should be required in the car - either with Blue Tooth or headsets. We can't change the fact that the driver is not paying attention to driving, but at least he/she will have two hands to steer.
