Sotomayor's and Obama's Identity Politics Leave Blind Justice at Risk

Can Sotomayor keep her biases in check? For the Constitution's sake, we'd better find out

Preferential Racism

Be it couched in the appealing vernacular of socialism: "helping the poor, the disenfranchised, the unmotivated"; or simply hatred or jealousy, racism in any form is wrong! Race, culture or gender should not be a factor in a judge's decision. Ms. Sotomayor's comments expose her hidden agenda--the very agenda to which Mr. Obama subscribes. We are in for an unjust and biased court.

Justice in America?

I am not a great thinker. I do not have any college degrees. But I do have common sense. I know right from wrong. I don't need anyone telling me how I should think or what I should think. I learned years ago how to do that. I am a common ordinary American.

I do not believe that selecting a person for any office in this country should be a matter of gender or race. Judges like all politicans have an obligation to uphold the rules of law in our country regardless of their personal opinion. Racism in all shapes and forms is wrong. I don't care if it is from the far left or the far right. I don't care what the gender or race espousing racism in any form is. Its WRONG!

Justice will never be the norm in our society because corruption is rampant in all areas of our society. The media can not even report the news without a biased tilt. Banks and corporations as a matter of business routinely rip off their investors. (Can any one explain why your own bank charges you to check your balance?) Politicans are the most corrupt segment of our society, but not by much.

Show me where there is equal representation for all people in our nation. Name one elected offical who lives in poverty? They may be able to run for office, put without millions of dollars to buy their way into office they have no chance. The poor have no reprersentation in the courts. If charged with a crime you and you can not afford a lawyer you get some hack public defender who has a very limitied budget to defend you with while the prosecutors have unlimited funds to prosecute you with. The constitution guarantees everyone the right to reasonable bail, but what constitutes reasonable. Is reasonable determined by the size of your bank account? If a judge making 120,000 a years sets a bail of 25,000 that might seem reasonable to him, but how reasonable is that to a defendant who makes 15,000 a year. Thousands of innocent people sit in jails in every state in our nation. Where is their Justice. We have tens of thousands of our citizens sitting in jail because they don't have enough money for bail. They are being punished for simply being poor. They have not been convicted by any jury. How much does this cost the taxpayers? Yes, people are released from jail once they have been proven to be not guilty, but how do you make up 10 15 or 20 years of their life that was stolen from them by a corrupt judicial system. Its ok for the government to say we are deeply sorry that this happened. Do we let guilty individuals go when they say they are sorry?

For the past 2 years we have been bombarded by how badly prisoners of war are mistreated and tortured. But where is the outrage for our own citizens who are treated as bad or worse in our own jails and prisons. Who fights for them and speaks for them.

It won't be Sotomayor. She has already sided with the police numerous times on illegal searches.
