Does the U.S. Need More Gun Control?
Ten years after the Columbine High School massacre, shooting sprees in New York and Pennsylvania bring renewed howls for tighter gun laws. But is gun control the answer? In U.S. News's monthly series The Chat Room, four advocates from both sides of the debate get their say, first in separate op-eds, then for several days as guests on the Thomas Jefferson Street blog. Post your thoughts below, and don't forget to check out the debate.

Not a single instance in the THOUSANDS of posted legal gun defense uses did the PERP have a legal concealed weapons permit......

gun control
Enforce existing laws
Criminals do not observe existing laws let alone
any new ones.
They fear armed citizens more than the police as the police
are rarely around when a crime is in progress, but if they
think the potential victim is armed, they will back off.
Gun free zones are really....victims available zones
If a gunman opened fire in a library...who would be able to protect themselves...."no deadly weapons allowed" sign is in the entrance......
While if no one knew who was "carrying'...it would make them
think twice before trying anything.
