tea parties

What was small, really, was the way the Media reported these tea parties. I am really concerned about that lack of honesty and objectivity. Instead of asking genuine questions, the "journalist" from CNN was trying to dissuade and intimidate one of the protesters. It is shameful! We have the right, as citizens, to know the news, and to make up our own opinions. The international press must have a secret field day about this; imagine, one generation of reporters covers the Watergate, the next generation is busy with cover-up.

We Were Warned

"A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have." ~ Thomas Jefferson

"There are two ways to conquer and enslave a nation. One is by the sword, the other is by debt." ~ John Adams

Since the people in government are being considered as irresponsible, it is good to realize they are citizens of the USA the same as the rest of us. That means they are representative of everyone else in their attitudes and ways.

About two years ago I read an article that stated the average credit card debt for Americans was about $10,000. That's a lot of money when it is multiplied by hundreds of millions of people. Hundreds of thousands of people refinanced their homes to relieve credit card debt as property values continued to climb for many years - giving the impression they didn't need to pay for their spending.

It's not Republican or Democrat, though the differences of the two parties give to us a sense of the consequences of varying indulgences, right and wrong. Borrow and spend is not wrong if done for the right reasons. It all isn't about finding ways to get what we want, it is about realizing why we want what we do.

tea party

I went to a tea party, yesterday, to protest government deficit spending. It was bad under Bush and worse under Obama. The media doesn't want to understand. We are not angry Obama won. We are angry because Obama isn't keeping his promises. He promised to go line by line to cut earmarks. Then he signs a 8000+ earmark bill withOUT even trying to cut any pork out of it. He signed the stimulus bill withOUT taking the time to make it better/leaner. He now wants $83 billion to spend on the wars. We want Obama to be better than Bush with our tax money. And we are not seeing it. Also, State and local taxes are increasing. My property tax tripled in 2008.

Tea Party

Come on President Obama is not the British nor is the Senate. They are worst than the British ever were! Who says credit is hard to get it only costed the American tax payer 100,000 million dollars for Obama's trip to go to Europe on his little trip. He doesn't need a credit card he has the American tax payer. Look what we got for our investment he apologize for us being Americans! Thank god our money was spent wisely. Oh got to go to South American, I hope he doesn't forget to apologize again! I hope he also gives them some money for their drug war, because we caused that problem, damm Americans! You know we cause that pirate problem too. Remember when we went into Somlia with the military well here's the result. We should bail them out! We caused Cuba to be encomically depressed from all those years of the embargo. We need to bail them out! Haiti we went into Haiti and them that storm hit. We should bail them out too. I think we should also apoligize to them also, for what we did. I don't think any middle class people should get any bail out! You know why? We got no MO JOE! That's why. I wish I was President I won't need a charge card because I would have the American work pay for everything! Can anyone think of one thing that Obama has done with the expection of spend our money? But we now have a glimmer of recover. Really! What I think we have here is the Condoleezza Rice factor. A whole lot of trips with nothing to show for it. In fact we have two now Obama and Hiilary Clinton! Losers

tea party

Just came back from a Texas Tea Party.

Had a great time, Good People. Dem. Rep, Liberal, Independent.

Peaceful. No name calling, just the facts.

It was good to see the US get back some of the pride we used to have. It wasnt an Obama thing and most of them agreed. It is congress - our reps who we put there.

We should not fear our govt. Our govt should fear the people.

This country was formed by hard working people. All wanting the same thing.

Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. No Taxation.

Obama going to europe to apologize for us - shows how much, he dont know. His inexperience is really coming to the forfront of his position.

I am truly disappointed in how the media has attempted to make anyone who went to these look like idiots. And making inaccurate statement about the amount of people who attended.

I was at a rather small one, approx 4,000 people. There was thousands more at austin and more at the alamo. This dont even take in the other smaller parties in small towns everywhere

By checking some of the smaller papers on line - before tax day. We are still looking ar more than several million people in the US. Fox was smart to get on the band wagon.

It is the largest protest in history.

And if this catches on - congress is smoke. there wont be an incumbant left standing.

Taxes

A nice little story but what it doesn't tell you is what these peaple were getting paid. I personally like the story about all the poor rich boys sitting around the boardroom table complaining about how they were getting ripped off by having to pay so many taxes. There boss came into the room and told them that if any of them paid a higher percentage of there income in taxes than ther secratary's did that he would give them 1 million dollars. NOT ONE OF THESE MEN WERE ABLE TO COLLECT.

I as a bussiness owner would say that this is totally true.

Power to the People

That is what the Founding Fathers wanted

Tea Parties

This would be typical liberal fashion to come out and say that the protests are hostile. I highly doubt it. The Obama media is in the tank. Those protests are about as peaceful as can be. The problem is the liberal left is now starting to lose ground with a simple grass roots movement. I don't know who started it, who cares. These clowns spend money faster than I can. That's okay, I hope they are enjoying their 8% increase in spending. I am reducing my spending by 10%, just to prove a point.

Who pays taxes

Quote of the week – If you’re concerned about today’s economy, this should clear things up.

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.

The fifth would pay $1.

The sixth would pay $3.

The seventh would pay $7.

The eighth would pay $12.

The ninth would pay $18.

The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that ' s what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve.

Since you are all such good customers, he said, I ' m going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20.

Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men – the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his fair share? '

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody ' s share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man ' s bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing. (100% savings)

The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3. (33%savings)

The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7. (28%savings)

The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12. (25% savings)

The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18. (22% savings)

The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59. (16% savings)

Each of the six was better off than before, and the first four continued to drink for free.

But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.

‘I only got a dollar out of the $20, ' declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man, ' but he got $10! '

' Yeah, that ' s right, exclaimed the fifth man. I only saved a dollar, too. It ' s unfair that he got ten times more than I! '

' That ' s true shouted the seventh man. Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks! ' '

' Wait a minute, yelled the first four men in unison. ' We didn ' t get anything at all. The system exploits the poor! '

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn ' t show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn ' t have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works.

The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction.

Tax them too much, attack them

Tea Party protest

It is about time we start protesting the way the goverment is spending our money. I have paid my taxes for the last 36 years I think it is time to take back our country and not give our money to the congress to spend.
