I wish our laws made sense...

Marijuana:

-is less harmful than alcohol and toboacco

-is less addictive than alcohol and tobacco

-does not have as great of effect on the mind as alcohol

-does not cause aggresive behavior like alcohol does

-is actually BENIFITIAL in some ways, unlike alcohol or tobacco (thats not to say its necessarily GOOD for you)

I love what the second guy down from me said about those who oppose it know nothing about it. Until I was in my senior year of high school, I thought marijuana caused MENTAL PROBLEMS! We are a brainwashed nation.

And think about our economical situation... Theres an easy way out of it: legalize marijuana and tax the hell out of it! The numbers show at least 40% of our population would be buying! Think about all of the new jobs!

Its UNCONSTITUTIONAL for marijuana to be illegal! You cant make something illegal "just because". What is the basis for its illegalization? Where is the data? If we're only free to do what they say we are allowed to do, are we really free at all?

Let us pursue our happiness already! :)

Listen understand and take in this is somethin you will love to hear. lol

Im not really wanting to bash on anybody for smokeing weed, I understand it is a stimulant that helps people when they are depressed, or they just want to feel good. But it slows down the mind, erases memory, and can cause cancer, for instance single cell cancer, im in a university and study it all the way through, 3 years....lol so point being people you cant cope with reality so you turn to weed, and you cant face life like a man or a women so you give in. Your week minded and afraid of the real world at hand you will never get anywhere positive if you continue useing weed, a ticket to hell maybe but who am I to judge I have nor right....

Prohibition didnt' work with alcohol

If only 42% of the people polled tried it, then that means that 58% are making an uniformed decision. I would love to see a break down for the opinions of those that have tried it.

I know one person my whole life that hasn't really made anything of himself (probably due to marijuana). I know about 10 people that were killed in auto accidents while drunk driving and 2 people that overdosed from prescription medicine. Most of the fatalities were a result of horrible judgement. Much like fatalities related to fire arms. Does this mean that the public should always be penalized for a few bad eggs?

I don't understand how the conservatives can be so pro-gun and be more than happy to accept money from the tobacco industry but make decisions about a relatively harmless drug (compared to alcohol, tobacco, and prescription drugs) that many of them haven't even tried. It truly is a waste of tax payers money to keep fighting this fake war on drugs. It is easy to find on the streets and a sizable portion of the money just trickles down to the black market financing REAL CRIMINALS (some of which put police officers lives in danger).

I think a great study should be done to investigate the money trails and why the politicians truly are against it. Are they getting generous donations from the pharmaceutical industry, alcohol industry and prison industry? I am sure the DEA would never let facts get in their way either.

Bottom line is that we the taxpayers pay the premium and many of us get the propaganda instead of the facts. Why lock up non-violent people that are minding their own business? Give me one good reason why I shouldn't be allowed to smoke a joint in the privacy of my own home while I watch a movie? If we adhere to all of the arguments the politicians make then why don't we prohibit alcohol, tobacco and firearms. They are responsible for 1,000,000x more deaths.
