What Do You Think of the Economic Stimulus Package?

Posted February 10, 2009

Reports the AP: "President Barack Obama's economic recovery plan has passed the Senate and is on its way to difficult House-Senate negotiations." The stimulus bill passed with 61 votes in favor and 37 votes against. What do you think of the stimulus bill? How far will it go toward helping the U.S. economy, if it all? Post your thoughts.

Stimulus Package

This is the biggest bunch of crap I've seen in 53 years of being a citizen of the U.S. What a bunch of lies we were told. I know jumping on "bandwagons" more often than not turns into disillusion and disbelief at how badly we were "snowed". We've most definitely been taken. This president has said ANYTHING to become elected, and now we're catching on. Who's actually leading this country?? Pelosi and Reid are dangerous politicians that are not afraid of damage being done to their reputations, as long as their agenda is promoted. These two are the most bi-partisan creeps in our nations capitol today. These two gargoyles are always flanking Obama. The people looking across the table to make connections with the President are constantly reminded of the roadblocks, just by seeing their leering. He has done nothing but campaign for the first 50 days of this administration. I'm already sick to death of him. He's gone back on promises he made to be "transparent", he's brought the biggest bunch of know-nothings into this group to re-pay them for helping to get him elected. He's cool... he's not gracious. He's not presidential, and he has no class. No earmarks, my ass. Last years business, I think not. This guy is a freakin' disaster... and so is the goup of sleezy people he's playing government with. Rangel, Franks, Geuthner, Dodd, Emanuel; all crap. Pelosi & Reid are the worst. Sit down, get to work, stop the celebrations, get a clue, and do something to help the people that voted you into office. They weren't all on public assistance. I hope Stevie Wonder sang "You Haven't Done Nothin'" during his performance for the Obamas... IT FITS>

Stimulus Package

Giving out another stimulus check would be good but it's just a temporary "quick" fix. It won't help the economy rebound in the long run and it would cost billions of dollars, so why waste the money. People are just going to have to tighten their belts and spend more responsibly. I'm not saying this because I have tons of money, I don't, I'm a relatively new teacher. However, I understand that there are no quick fixes. We all are just going to have to do our best until things turn around. I've learned one thing, in the future I'm not going to be financing things and spending on my credit card like I must say I was guilty of in the past.

Stimulus????

I am quite upset about the stimulus package. I found nothing in there that will give money back to the tax payers....like now! I was hoping for another stimulus like we received last year. All this bill does is increase our debt and taxes and spend money on things that are not as important....like environmental issues, and National Parks., etc.
