Was Barack Obama Correct to Choose Leon Panetta to Head the CIA?

PANETTA

FOR BRUCE ALLEN OF FL UNFORTUNATELY WE DO HAVE SOMEWHERE TO GO OTHER THAN UP. IT IS THE OPPOSITE WHICH IS DOWN. I SINCERELY HOPE THAT WE DO GO UP. I AM IN AGREEMENT WITH YOU IN THAT WE COULD HAVE VOTED FOR HILLIARY AND GOTTEN THE TWO FOR ONE SPECIAL. BECAUSE OF THINGS LIKE THIS I HAVE A HARD TIME VOTING FOR A DEMOCRAT FOR PRESIDENT. I FEAR THAT IN THE ADMINISTRATIONS RUSH TO BE POLITICALLY CORRECT AND TO ENSURE THAT WE DON'T STEP ON TERRORISTS RIGHTS THAT WE COULD BE STANDING INTO DANGER.

Panetta

Obama's choice of Panetta to heqad the CIA only emphasizes Obama's own total lack of ability to be President.

Another appointee from the Clinton camp...we might as well have let Bill run for a third term. At least we knew where all his cronies stood on the need for the highest levels of intelligence possible to assure our national security.

Panetta knows nothing about spycraft nor does his background evidence that he has ever really thought about it.

I fear this is an open invitation to terrorist to attempt additional attacks against our country.

God help us.

Panetta

I'm a huge Obama fan but have to question some of the choices he's made to his cabinet and now placing Panetta at the CIA. If we had wanted our president surrounded by Clinton era insiders, wouldn't we have voted for Hillary??? That being said, with the incompetence of the Bush years and the dismal state that this country is in now, do we have anywhere we can go but up??? They may be insiders but at least they're smart insiders...

Panetta a Good Choice

Panetta was a great member of congress before he worked in the Clinton years. He's an honest man, very smart, much integrity, great administrator, very much versed in national security issues..

Too many years we have had insiders trying to run the departments. This is like the fox watching the chickens. Obama wants to change that. A fresh look.

The CIA has bunches of highly paid bureaucrats that are very seasoned, and should know their jobs. "Experienced" leadership in the past ten years has not brought us any greater level of security. In many cases we are worse off than in 2000.

It is the Director's job to create a system and environment where we maximize the information and resources we have to keep an eye on world events that impact this country. It is the Directror's job to ensure that his agency runs in a manner that reflects American values, and is not going to bend based on old croney pressure or big money interests.

I for one am relieved we don't have the usual insiders. This IS the change Obama promised.

obama

goodbye united states of america

hello soviet socialist states of obama

you should all contemplate a conversion to islam, our intelligence community will be devastated. you can bet the terrorists will be back

Panetta as CIA Director

Unless CIA stands for Culinary Institute of America, I can't imagine a worse pick. This guy was Clinton's Chief of Staff and National Budget Director during the years that the CIA was gutted of the resources (money and talent)required to keep us safe. The 7 terrorists attacks against the US and our interests during Clinton's tenure are proof enough. You'd better avoid tall buildings and dig your shelters deep....

Obama Picks

Its more like we elected Bill Clinton again, not Obama. All his picks are old Clinton cronies. Im disapointed to say the least....
